A huge congratulations to BGSS Senior Concert Band who won the most outstanding award in tonight’s Fanfare Regional Finals.
Special shout out to Mr. Kehoe for his hard work and dedication preparing our students for their big performance.
We will await word on the State Finals once the judges have finished their tour of Queensland.

We are delighted to inform you that in Term 3 Belgian Gardens State School will again be participating in the world-renowned ICAS competitions this year.
What is ICAS?
ICAS is an online academic competition that is designed to assess students’ higher order thinking and problem-solving skills in English, Mathematics, Science, Writing, Spelling Bee and Digital Technologies.
Each assessment celebrates students’ accomplishments by providing opportunities for recognition and development. We encourage you to consider entering your child into ICAS this year.

How to participate in ICAS
If you wish for your child to participate in ICAS this year, please:
1. Consider which subjects your child will participate in.

Enter your child’s details, select the tests you would like to purchase, then proceed to payment.
Registration for all subject areas closes on Monday 27 July at 11:59pm.
This year, our students can elect to sit the following assessments:

Science 17-21 Aug (Week 6) $21.95
Mathematics 24-28 Aug (Week 7) $21.95
Please note that the ICAS tests shown for selection are at the school’s discretion.
After payment is made via the Parent Payment System, you will receive an order confirmation email, please keep this for your records. ICAS cannot facilitate refunds or make alterations as all money is paid directly to ICAS Assessments.
We will notify you of the school’s ICAS testing dates and when your child’s ICAS results are ready. Every student who participates is celebrated and recognised with a printed certificate in each subject area, and an online results report. Your child’s ICAS certificates will show their results and the login details, “TAP ID and Pin”. - Use these to enter the Results Portal (https://orti.icasassessments.com/ortiStudent).

SCHOOL POWER OUTAGE HAS NOW BEEN RESOLVED.
Power has now been fully restored to the school. Full access is now available to Potts Street and the school. School entry is available through the blue arched gate.
Thank you to students and parents for following instructions to ensure a safe school drop off. A big shout out to Ergon Energy for their quick response to have us back up and running.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT We are currently experiencing a school wide power outage due to a blown transformer. Safety precautions are in place for students and staff. Ergon are currently on site. Fire and police have attended. Road access is currently closed on Potts street between Taylor and Evans Street. School can be accessed on foot via the prep gate or hall gate. We will post further information as it comes to hand.
Please note students DO NOT NEED to be collected.
