প্রাকৃতিকভাবে জন্মানো ফুল বা গাছগুলোকে আমরা বড্ড অবহেলা করি! গাছগুলো উপড়ে ফেলি, বাঁকা চোখে তাকাই কিংবা কীটনাশক ছিটিয়ে মেরে ফেলি।

কিন্তু প্রকৃতির সৌন্দর্যে বা খাদ্যশৃঙ্খলে এই ফুলগুলোর ভূমিকা অনস্বীকার্য। মাঠে বা বাগানে যখন ফুল থাকেনা সেসব সময়ে এসব ফুলই হয় মৌমাছিদের জীবিকা।

বনগাঁদা/ মহাতিতিঙ্গা/ Electric Daisy:
প্রাকৃতিকভাবে জন্মানো ঔষধি গুণসম্পন্ন একটি ফুল। ইলেক্ট্রিক ডেইজির পুষ্পমঞ্জরি উঠিয়ে দাঁতের ফাঁকে দিয়ে চাপ দিলে হালকা শক হয়ে দাঁতের ব্যথা কম অনুভূত হয়। তাছাড়া ত্বকের বলিরেখা কমাতে এটি ব্যবহৃত হয়।

জুঁই, হাসনাহেনা, গন্ধরাজ, শিউলি, বেলি এসব ফুলের নাম নিশ্চয় শুনেছেন? এই ফুলগুলোর মধ্যে বিশেষ মিল হলো এদের রঙ। সবাই সাদা। আর সব ফুল সুমিষ্ট ঘ্রাণ ছড়ায়। এদের ইংরেজি নামেও দারুণ এক মিল লক্ষ্য করা যায়। Jasmine, Night-blooming Jasmine, Cape Jasmine, Night-flowering Jasmine, Arabian Jasmine!

একারণেই সম্ভবত জেসমিন নামের মানুষের সংখ্যা বেশি!
