I know we are all affected in some uncomfortable way by this current heat wave, and concerned that our babies are appropriately hydrated and continue to breastfeed well.

☀️Here are a few Nourish tips to help beat the heat:☀️

☀️Keep baby in just a diaper
☀️Skin to skin contact is a great way to regulate your baby’s body temperature
☀️Breastfeed often-remember babies get thirsty too and may only nurse for a few minutes to quench their thirst!
☀️Your baby can burn even when sitting outside in the shade so be extra careful and don’t stay outdoors for long!
☀️Mama, make sure you stay well hydrated-if you’ve been out in the heat for too long, drink extra water and consider an electrolyte replacement drink
☀️Limit your caffeine intake
☀️If your baby refuses to breastfeed, or becomes lethargic and or sleepy when it’s time to feed, have your baby assessed right away at the ER

Classes are offered on the last Tuesday of every month through Zoom. A $10 discount code is provided to all maternity clinic patients.
