Community members, media partners, and friends are invited to join Sq’éwqel, Hope and Health, and adidas for a special opening ceremony celebrating the newest 𝗕𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶 𝗣𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟯 𝗮𝘁 𝟭:𝟬𝟬 𝗣𝗠.

The event marks a significant milestone as the 10ᵗʰ mini pitch developed through the Be The Change initiative, this one made possible through the generous support of adidas, with representative in attendance for the celebration.

Held during National Indigenous History Month and in recognition of National Indigenous Peoples Day, the opening ceremony will honour the power of sport, community, culture, and youth leadership.

The mini pitch represents more than a place to play soccer—it is a gathering space where young people can connect, grow, build confidence, and strengthen community through sport.

The celebration will bring together community leaders, families, partners, and, most importantly, youth, for an afternoon filled with inspiration, connection, and soccer.

Guests will experience the unique partnership between Hope and Health and Seabird Island Nation, showcasing how sport can be a powerful vehicle for reconciliation, wellness, leadership, and opportunity.

“This opening celebrates the dreams and potential of Indigenous youth while demonstrating what is possible when communities, partners, and young people come together with a shared vision,” said Dean Gill, Hope and Health CEO. “Reaching our 10ᵗʰ mini pitch is an incredible milestone, and we are honoured to celebrate it with Seabird Island Nation.”

Media representatives are encouraged to attend and capture this meaningful community celebration, featuring youth participation, cultural elements, community speakers, and opportunities to connect with partners and participants.
