SELF HELP RESOURCE CENTER (SHREC-CIG) was created 2013 under Reg. No. SHREC is a non-profit association.

SHREC's mission is to promote self-reliance skills through capacity building in the areas of Education and career development to empower youths, women and handicaps. SW/GP/038/13/1271 5 with its mission goals specifically geared towards poverty alleviation and capacity building in the areas of Education, Career Orientation, and women & Youth empowerment. We use the power of orientation, soft skill

acquisition and integration into the business world to transform youths and women into powerful entrepreneurs. We promote self-employment, job creation and college readiness to reduce unemployment and kick poverty out of our communities. Membership is opened to Cameroonians and government services, local & foreign legal entities, international organizations and others who wish to further the above mentioned objectives. JOIN US
We extend an invitation to join SHREC-CIG to promote your concept, project, business, etc through advocacy, networking, and outreach. The objectives of SHREC-CIG are:
• To increase chances of building and attaining profitable employment
• To improve the probability of youths reaching educational milestones with low-cost high quality training in Cameroon and abroad
• To provide a networking platform that promotes business ideas that would attract investment
• To encourage business partnerships
• To decrease number of unemployed youths in our community
• To facilitate and promote a sense of engagement amongst youths and women rather than the feeling of entrapment
• To create an environment of continuous learning and development. MAIN ACTIVITY
SHREC’S main activity is a membership luncheon held every last Saturday of the month. Members are inspired by guest speakers on diverse topics in business, education, finance and more. These are cream of experts including renowned CEOs of big organizations in Cameroon and abroad. Because we provide clear-cut orientation and counseling using experts from diverse fields, SHREC-CIG is the place to be for those who want to bring their business concept to live, expand their business, acquire a milestone in education or develop themselves through networking. MAKE SOMEONE'S CHRISTMAS SPECIAL 2025 - 3rd Edition

SHREC-CIG Safe Space, in partnership with the Shelter of Hope Foundation, is joyfully celebrating the Christmas season with over 50 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) affected by the NOSO crisis in Cameroon.
In the face of persistent marginalisation and discrimination, we are intentionally taking concrete and compassionate steps to break down these barriers. Our commitment is to foster an environment of freedom, personal growth, and resilience—one that empowers displaced individuals and families to rebuild their lives and thrive within their new communities.
Through this gesture, we seek not only to share the joy and warmth of the festive season but also to reaffirm our unwavering solidarity. We stand with them in moments of hope and celebration, as well as during times of hardship, reminding them that they are seen, valued, and supported.
