AABE Conducts IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards Implementation Workshop

The Accounting and Auditing Board of Ethiopia (AABE), in collaboration with FSD Africa, GIZ, and FSD Ethiopia, has launched a three-day workshop on the implementation of the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards Roadmap.

Opening the workshop, Ato Wubishet Tadele, Director General of AABE, emphasized that sustainability and ESG considerations have become central to global and national development agendas. He noted that the adoption of the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards marks a significant milestone in enhancing transparency, accountability, and internationally comparable sustainability reporting in Ethiopia.

The workshop brings together representatives from reporting entities to strengthen their understanding of climate-related disclosures, governance, strategy, and risk management requirements, supporting Ethiopia's transition toward high-quality sustainability reporting.

In annual CFO Forum organized by EIH, AABE’s Director General Ato Wubshet Tadele in his opening remark, underlines the significance of transparent financial ecosystem to attract foreign investors into Ethiopia.
