PROTECT YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY FROM DENGUE FEVER

Prevent mosquito bites by using repellents, sleeping under mosquito nets, and installing screens on doors and windows. Just as importantly, destroy mosquito breeding places by removing stagnant water around your home and keeping your surroundings clean.

Watch out for symptoms such as fever, headache, eye pain, rash, muscle pain, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Seek medical attention immediately if you experience these signs.

Together, we can stop the spread of dengue.

🌊 Damaging Heavy Swells Expected from Thursday

Residents, mariners, fishers, and coastal communities in the southwest of Viti Levu, Lau Waters, Koro Sea, and Kadavu Passage are advised to exercise extreme caution as damaging heavy swells of up to 4.0 metres are expected to develop from Thursday.

Heavy swells can create dangerous sea conditions, strong currents, and large breaking waves along exposed coastlines, even when weather conditions appear fair.

⚠️ Safety Advice:
β€’ Avoid unnecessary activities near exposed coastlines, reefs, and seawalls.
β€’ Small craft operators and fishers should closely monitor weather and marine updates before heading out to sea.
β€’ Swimmers and recreational users are urged to stay out of affected waters.
β€’ Secure boats and coastal property where necessary.
β€’ Follow advice issued by local authorities and emergency agencies.

Stay informed by monitoring the latest forecasts, warnings, and advisories issued by the Fiji Meteorological Service.
