Loneliness awareness week is about inspiring conversations about loneliness and promote connection activities happening across the world.
Around 23% to 27% of adults in Great Britain report feeling lonely "always, often, or some of the time". This means that up to one in four people experience some degree of loneliness on a regular basis, with approximately 7% suffering from chronic loneliness (feeling lonely always or often)
Here you can find a link to the NHS website with information for getting health with loneliness.

As mentioned in our post on Sunday this week is also cervical screening awareness week.
Cervical screening (which used to be called a smear test) is a free health test on the NHS to help prevent cervical cancer.
It checks for a virus called high-risk Human Papillomavirus (HPV). If high-risk HPV is present, then the sample will be checked for cervical cell changes. It is not a test to diagnose cervical cancer. Cervical screening is estimated to save around 5000 lives a year in the UK.

AS we head into the summer months and potentially hotter, we come towards the end of Skin Cancer Awareness month. It is a good time for us all to be aware of key prevention tips:
Spend time in the shade between 11am and 3pm and never burn
Use sunscreen - a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 30 to protect against UVB and at least 4 star UVA protection.
Cover up with suitable clothing and sunglasses
