The Mayor is looking forward to attending a community yoga class on Saturday, 20 June, organised by Sutton Parivaar for International Yoga Day ๐งโโ๏ธ
Yoga is increasingly recognised as an important proactive approach towards improving both mental and physical wellbeing, helping reduce stress, improve fitness, encourage mindfulness, and strengthen community connection.
The event is FREE to attend and open to all age groups.

Our annual summer planting is underway this week, kicking off with the flower beds at Vesey Gardens, which will soon be coming into bloom (see attached pictures).
Over the coming days, summer planting will also be completed at:

๐ Traffic Islands on Mill Street, Park Road, Jockey Road, & Stonehouse Road
We are adding a burst of colour to other corners of our town and local centres, with the installation of:

๐ชท 44 Planters
๐บ 7 Flower Towers
The Town Council is bringing colour to our Royal Town over the summer, and helping create a welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.

Civic leaders, residents, and representatives of local community and faith organisations came together at Holy Trinity Parish Church on Sunday 14 June for this yearโs annual Civic Service.
The Mayor of Royal Sutton Coldfield, Councillor Nitish Raut, was joined by Deputy Lieutenant Abbie Vlahakis, The Rt Hon Sir Andrew Mitchell KCMG, The High Sheriff of The West Midlands, Carmen Watson, local councillors and distinguished guests for the service, which was led by Rt. Revd. James Langstaff, Associate Bishop in the Diocese of Birmingham.
The annual Civic Service is a cherished tradition that brings together people from across the Royal Town in a spirit of unity, reflection, and community. It provides an opportunity to celebrate the individuals, charities, faith groups, and organisations whose dedication and commitment help make Sutton Coldfield such a vibrant and welcoming place to live.
Speaking after the event, Councillor Raut said:
"It was a pleasure to welcome civic guests, residents, and representatives of our wonderful local charities, faith groups, and community organisations to this yearโs Civic Sunday. Events like these remind us of the strength of our community and the incredible contribution made by so many people who work tirelessly to support others and enrich life across our Royal Town."

The Pride in Place programme has officially entered its Delivery Phase, and applications for ยฃ200,000 in Community Grants are NOW OPEN! ๐
If you are a local group, charity, or community organisation dedicated to making our town an even better place to live, work, and visit, this is your chance to secure funding towards making that happen.
Two Grant Schemes Available:
๐ฐ Community Enabling Grants (Up to ยฃ7,500): For smaller-scale projects, essential equipment, or brand-new startup initiatives.
๐ฐ Community Delivery Grants (ยฃ7,500 to ยฃ25,000): For larger, high-impact community projects.
We are looking to fund projects focused on creating:
