We hope everyone had a brilliant ! 🌟

We had the best time celebrating at Orpington Library! Here’s a little look at what we got up to:

📚 Kickstarted the day by showcasing our favourite reads from the Read for Empathy Collection.

👶 Rocked our Empathy Baby Bounce & Rhyme session! A huge thank you to for their Early Years Toolkit—the rhymes went down an absolute storm!

✨ After school, we loved reading ‘I'm Going to Make a Friend’ by Darren Chetty and Sandhya Prabhat, before getting crafty and making our very own Empathy Superpower Glasses (shoutout to gll_literaryfoundation author Ramzee for the awesome design!).

A massive thank you to all our wonderful staff and customers who joined in the fun, and to Empathy Lab for their incredible resources! 💛

What an incredible morning at Orpington Library! 📚❤️

We were absolutely thrilled to welcome the brilliant Kristina Rahim—author in the prestigious Read for Empathy Collection—to celebrate the Empathy Day Festival with us and 54 wonderful Year 6 students from a local primary school.

We talked about empathy meaning ‘the ability to understand and share the feelings of another’ and how being curious and interested were so important.

Today Kristina helped us all "Jump into Someone Else’s Story." By diving into the different lives of the characters in her books, ‘The Doughnut Club’ and ‘Max and Ella, Stuck Together’, the children practiced stepping into someone else’s shoes, and celebrating our differences.

The creativity during the session was electric! Together, we put our empathy skills into action by inventing our very own character, ‘Jeff’!

Taking part in the "Biscuit Quiz" and "Two Truths and a Lie" were absolute hits! 🍪✨

A massive thank you to Kristina for inspiring the next generation to read, understand, and lead with kindness, and to the fantastic students who brought so much heart to the library today.

We have copies of Kristina’s books in Bromley Libraries to borrow.

📚✨ What a fantastic day at Orpington Library yesterday! ✨

We were thrilled to host a brilliant Year 5 class for a very special author event with the amazing Amy Fellner Dominy! Amy shared some wonderful stories about her life as an author and introduced us to her first UK-published book, ‘Monster Down Deep’ published by Pushkin Press).

It’s an exciting, deep-sea adventure packed with beautiful themes like friendship, empathy, and caring for our environment. 🌊🐙

The absolute highlight? Working together with Amy to create our very own character—'Bob the Wizard'! It was a true team effort, and the kids had a a fun time inventing all sorts of wild problems for him to solve. 🧙‍♂️✨

A huge thank you to Pushkin Press for organising this incredible visit, and an even bigger thank you to Amy for inspiring our young readers and writers!
