Explore the meaning of home at new D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum exhibition

The museum’s latest exhibition showcases what home means to different families from across the globe, in partnership with museums and universities locally and in Beijing. Students from the Beijing Language and Culture University and representatives from 93 Courtyard Museum (Beijing) have kickstarted the exhibition with immersive stories from their respective homes – invoking visitor’s senses and detailing key objects and events.

Visitors are encouraged to take part themselves by sharing their own memories from home, with the aim of growing the exhibition to be displayed elsewhere.

Accessible street theatre, a Youth parliament, and a virtual choir exchange were just some the ideas discussed by cultural experts across Broxtowe and four other European cities earlier this month, as part of the fifth annual C-City conference, hosted this year in Broxtowe.

Since the C-City partnership between Broxtowe, Châteauroux (France), Falun (Sweden), Grudziądz (Poland) and Gütersloh (Germany) began in 2018, the project has produced new music and theatre events, exhibitions and provided a platform for up-and-coming artists locally and further afield.
