PERTH DOMESTIC ABUSER PLEADS GUILTY TO STRING OF 11 OFFENCES
A repeat offender was finally apprehended after his terrified girlfriend broke down in a taxi during a kidnapping attempt and insisted on being taken to the police station.

Gavin Mann’s partner broke down and pleaded for help after he forcibly entered her home while she was sleeping and compelled her to withdraw money from an ATM using her account.

At Perth Sheriff Court, it was detailed how Mann, a one-man crime spree, had been cycling in and out of jail over a 15-week period due to a wide range of offenses committed around Perth.

The 41-year-old was detained and then released following an incident in which he wounded a shop employee’s face during a theft of steaks at Marks and Spencer in the city center.

He also broke into a local shop overnight to steal alcohol, assaulted and threatened police officers, and damaged his girlfriend’s garden.

In court, he pleaded guilty to a pattern of abusive behavior towards his partner, along with 10 other charges contained in two separate indictments.

His criminal record includes multiple acts of violence, such as punching a staff member to the ground, smashing windows in stores, and intimidating police officers.

Subsequently, Mann was detained for various offenses, including threatening officers, spitting at them, and damaging property.

He appeared before Perth Sheriff Court on a petition, was initially remanded, but was later released on bail.

Despite bail conditions, he re-entered a shop to commit theft, then vandalized another store and acted aggressively.

His conduct was characterized by excessive violence and intimidation, which led to a guilty plea.

The sheriff postponed sentencing to allow for detailed background reports.
