A significant move towards
Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Nara Chandra Babu Naidu laid the foundation stones and presided over the grounding ceremony for a range of key aerospace and defence projects at Puttaparthi in Sri Satya Sai District of on May 15, 2026.
🔹The foundation stones were laid for the Core Integration & Flight Testing Centre of Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) at Puttaparthi to fast-track the development of Fifth-Generation Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft ( ).
🔹Foundation stone is also laid for the Naval Systems Manufacturing Facility, a Rs 480 crore project of Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), will focus on autonomous underwater vehicles, underwater counter-measure systems, and next-generation torpedoes.
🔹The grounding ceremony was carried out for the Ammunition, Propellent & Electric Fuses facilities of Kalyani Strategic Systems Ltd of Rs 1430 cr and HFCL Ltd. of Rs 1000 cr at Madakasira in Sri Satya Sai District.
🔹In addition, six drone projects worth Rs 400 cr were grounded in the Drone City at Kurnool.
🔹7 companies have also exchanged MoUs with proposed investment of worth Rs 4460 cr.with the Government of Andhra Pradesh to establish defence units in the state.

“ A nation’s strength will increasingly depend on how quickly its defence forces, laboratories, and industries think & act as one,” said Hon’ble Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh through a video message during Kalam & Kavach 3.0, a defence strategic dialogue organised at Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi on May 14, 2026.
Delivering the inaugural address, Hon’ble Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth highlighted the importance of innovation-led growth, indigenous capability development, and stronger industry participation in shaping India’s future defence preparedness.
Kalam & Kavach 3.0, themed “Taking JAI Forward With I²”, featured wide-ranging deliberations on India’s evolving defence and national security landscape.
🔹 The event comprised high-level sessions, keynote addresses, and panel discussions on critical domains including AI-enabled warfare, autonomous systems, hypersonic technologies, quantum-enabled C4ISR, aerospace advancements, defence manufacturing scale-up, and strategic partnerships.
🔹 The conclave also showcased exhibitions by Indian private industry, MSMEs, and startups, highlighting India’s growing defence innovation ecosystem.

The India–UK Defence Equipment Sub-Group ( ) and Industry Oversight Working Group ( ) meetings were held in London on 7–8 May 2026, reinforcing bilateral defence collaboration and strategic partnership between the two nations.
