On the occasion of , PIU Dhule under RO Mumbai, organized a plantation and environmental awareness drive at Dhanur Village, Dhule district, along the Dhule–Palesner section.

The initiative included a village rally to promote environmental conservation, plantation of 1,000 fruit-bearing saplings, and donation of seeds and plants to the local nursery to encourage long-term community participation in afforestation efforts.

On the occasion of , PIU Thane under RO Mumbai, NHAI undertook a Tree Plantation Drive on a section of the Vadodara–Mumbai Expressway (VME).

As part of NHAI's Green Highways initiative, the drive aims to enhance green cover, promote environmental sustainability, and create healthier, greener transportation corridors. Such efforts reflect NHAI's continued commitment to integrating infrastructure development with ecological conservation.

On the occasion of , PIU Kolhapur under RO Mumbai, NHAI undertook a Mega Tree Plantation Drive on the Ratnagiri–Kolhapur Section of NH-166.

By expanding green cover along National Highways, such initiatives help improve air quality, enhance roadside aesthetics, support biodiversity, and create environmentally resilient transportation corridors.

On the occasion of , PIU Nashik under RO Mumbai, NHAI undertook a Tree Plantation Program on the Pimpalgaon–Nashik–Gonde section of NH-3.

On the occasion of , PIU Kolhapur under RO Mumbai, NHAI undertook a Mega Plantation Drive on the Kagal–Satara Section of NH-48.

Over the last five years, NHAI RO Mumbai has planted over 10.6 lakh trees and shrubs across National Highways, contributing to greener and more sustainable road corridors. With a plantation target of 1,03,728 saplings for FY 2026-27, we continue to strengthen our Green Highways initiative.

As part of this commitment, PIU Nashik is transforming highway corridors through extensive median plantation, creating greener, safer and more aesthetically pleasing road networks.

Strengthening regional connectivity 🚧

The ongoing four-laning of the Ratnagiri–Kolhapur section of NH-166 from Mirya to Hathkhamba and from Pali to Amba will facilitate smoother traffic movement while improving connectivity to Ratnagiri, Kolhapur, Solapur, and Nagpur.

The project will enhance travel efficiency, support economic activity, and strengthen seamless movement between coastal and inland regions of Maharashtra.
