MITOMED+ M&C Management Model focuses on public policies for the sustainable development of maritime and coastal tourism.
It is divided into 5 fundamental steps to be taken by the stakeholders of the local tourism destination:
🔹Setting up a leading and collaborating structure
🔹 Carrying out an assessment in the destinations to evaluate the status quo of the
🔹 Developing a shared vision with related budget and timeframe
🔹 Formulation, consultation and approval of the Sustainable Tourism Development Strategic Plan
🔹 Monitoring and evaluation
The Model can be used by M&C tourism destinations to assure the tourism sustainability and gain competitive advantage, increasing the benefits tourism brings to the territory and the local community.

Characterized by its historical Etruscan heritage, the Etruscan Coast of Tuscany is home to 15 beautiful Tuscan municpalities, including Bibbona, Cecina, San Vincenzo and Rosiignano Marittimo.
With excellent seafood dishes, famous beaches, ancient ruins and vineyards, the Etruscan Coast has something for everyone.
Mitomed+ has recently added the Etruscan Coast to the Pilot 1 project, establishing a sustainable approach to tourism in this area.

Composed of 8 Tuscan municipalities, the territory of North Maremma has both High and Low Seasons, offering different activities upon visiting.
North Maremma's High Season is during the sumer months, when the area's sandy beaches and blue sea are in their prime. The Low Season, during the winter months, is best for bird watching at the natural park of Maremma.
As a recent addiition to the Mitomed+ Pilot 1 project, the area of North Maremma currently measures its level of sustainability to prevent destruction of this Tuscan treasure.

The Tuscan Archipelago is composed of the islands of Elba, Capraia, Giglio, Giannutri, Pianosa, Gorgona and Montecristo.
Crystal clear waters and in some cases truly untouched nature characterizes this area that has recently joined the Mitomed project under Pilot 1 to use data indicators to measure and improve sustainability.

Classifed as one of the official Catalan Family Holiday Destinations, Malgrat de Mar is the perfect destination for relaxing, eating, drinking and spending time outdoors in places like the Tordera River Delta, Conca Beach and even Castle Park.
Malgrat de Mar and its Spain beaches are currently adopting sustainable practices to ensure that the natural beauty of this coastal town is preserved thanks to its participation in the Mitomed+ Pilot 1.

Known for Spain's most famous dish, the paella valencia, along with a long list of Spanish delicacies, Valencia welcomes you to a delightful food scene. Explore the city's gothic architecture by visiting the Miguelete and the Valencia Cathedral.
As a new addition to Mitomed+'s "Data Indicators" project, Valencia is currently measuring its sustainability to become more eco-friendly in the future.
