The Cherangany Hills Ecosystem Restoration for Livelihood Improvement, Sustainability and Harmony (CHERISH) initiative is anchored on 5 components: ecosystem restoration and climate resilience, community empowerment, education and knowledge management, promoting sports and talent development and resource mobilisation.

CHERISH is a long-term ecosystem restoration initiative spearheaded by the OKM Foundation in partnership with stakeholders and communities across the Cherangany region, which spans Elgeyo Marakwet, West Pokot, Trans Nzoia and Uasin Gishu counties

KVDA continues to partner with other stakeholders in tree growing and realize the 15 billion trees target by 2032 as directed by H.E President William Ruto.

KVDA is building community resilience by empowering them against climate and disaster risks. We are empowering local communities by addressing immediate environmental challenges but also fostering a culture of proactive engagement through high value seedlings provision for climate smart agriculture, capacity building and value addition.
Joined the National Treasury PS Dr Chris Kiptoo, and his colleagues Dr Kiprono Rono (Agriculture), Eng. John Tanui (ICT), Elgeyo Marakwet governor Wesley Rotich and Keiyo South MP Gideon Kimaiyo at Kapkayo during an empowerment & seedlings distribution of high value crops including coffee, mangoes etc.
Kvda is distributing 15 million coffee, mangoes and avocadoes to farmers.
