NPV Statement on Unity, Peace, Cohesion and Integration in Kenya
Kenya today faces challenges that test the resilience of our democracy. In these circumstances, the Constitution of Kenya provides a firm foundation, enshrining national values under Article 10 and guaranteeing freedoms of expression, association and assembly. Complementing this constitutional framework, the National Cohesion and Integration Act (Cap. 7N) establishes the legal duty to eliminate ethnic discrimination, promote tolerance and strengthen the bonds of unity among all Kenyans. Together, these instruments affirm that peace, cohesion and integration are not abstract ideals but binding obligations that safeguard our nationās stability and progress.
Promoting cohesion requires deliberate action: fostering dialogue across communities, respecting diversity and rejecting violence and intolerance. It calls for inclusive participation in governance and development and for civic education that empowers citizens to understand both their rights and responsibilities. The way forward lies in building a nation where people`s voice is central to governance, ensuring that no Kenyan is marginalized or excluded from the national conversation.
For the National Peopleās Voice (NPV), inclusivity is the cornerstone of our vision. Our People First ideology calls for a Kenya where every voice counts and every community belongs. In affirming peace, cohesion and integration, we declare that Our Voice, Our Strength must be a call to unity, because only in unity can Kenya realize its full promise.
