๐จ CARDIAC ARREST IN PREGNANCY โ TWO LIVES DEPEND ON FAST ACTION โค๏ธ๐คฐ๐จ
Cardiac arrest during pregnancy is rare but extremely serious.
Immediate, high-quality CPR is essential.
โ ๏ธ Signs of cardiac arrest:
โ Unresponsive
โ Not breathing normally or only gasping
โ No pulse
โฑ๏ธ What to do immediately:
โ๏ธ Ensure scene safety
โ๏ธ Call for emergency help and request an AED

๐คฐ Special consideration (advanced pregnancy):
โ๏ธ If the pregnancy is visibly advanced (about 20 weeks or more), manually displace the uterus to the left side if trained, or slightly tilt the patient to reduce pressure on major blood vessels while maintaining effective CPR.
โก AED Use
โ๏ธ AEDs are safe to use during pregnancy
โ๏ธ Apply pads in the standard adult positions
๐ซ DO NOT:
โ Delay CPR because the patient is pregnant
โ Delay AED use
โ Stop compressions unnecessarily
๐ก The best way to help the baby is to provide effective CPR and restore circulation to the mother as quickly as possible.
