𝑷𝒉𝒏𝒐𝒎 𝑷𝒆𝒏𝒉, 11 𝑱𝒖𝒏𝒆 2026 – H.E. Ambassador Marcos dos Reis da Costa attended the Russia Day reception, hosted by the Embassy of the Russian Federation at the Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra.

The event brought together members of the diplomatic corps, government officials, and distinguished guests to celebrate the national occasion.

It was a wonderful evening dedicated to cultural exchange and strengthening connections with fellow diplomats and partners in Cambodia. Our sincere thanks to the Russian Embassy for their warm hospitality.

𝐎𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 08 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 2026 - HE. Ambassador Marcos dos Reis da Costa received a courtesy call from Mr. Lin Xhi, Executive Director of CIIDO - Cambodian industrial Innovation and Development Organization based in Phnom Penh, and his delegation at the Embassy of Timor-Leste.

The discussion focused on the organization's main works - focusing on industrial innovation and development activities between the organization and the Cambodian government and private sectors alike.

Ambassador da Costa took the opportunity to share information on the industrial and development plans and priorities that the Timor-Leste Government is currently undertaking. On top of that, both sides exchanged views and ideas on opportunities to be explored and established the coordination platform to seek possibilities for the CIIDO and the team to visit Timor-Leste in the near future.

The meeting was conducted in a friendly and cordial atmosphere.

On the morning of 9 June 2026, His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister PRAK Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, accompanied Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, to an Opening Session of the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum in Ha Noi, Viet Nam.

DILI, June 3, 2026 — Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, alongside Vice Prime Minister Francisco Kalbuadi Lay, officially launched an open-air Art Gallery at the Government Palace to kick off Ocean Week 2026.

Stretching from the palace waterfront to Casa Europa, the exhibition features a luminous acrylic arch and stunning photography showcasing Timor-Leste’s unique marine biodiversity and its deep cultural connection to the sea.🌊

📅 Thursday, 04 June 2026 – Corpus Christi (Timor-Leste Public Holiday);

📅 Thursday, 18 June 2026 – Birthday of Her Majesty the Queen-Mother of Cambodia (Host Country Holiday).

The Embassy will resume its normal operations on the following business days.

The Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste on Monday (Jun. 1) officially launched verify.gov.tl, a national digital platform for verifying the authenticity of government-issued documents, developed by Cambodia's Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MPTC).

The launch ceremony in Dili was attended by Chea Vandeth, Cambodian Minister of Post and Telecommunications and Chairman of the Digital Government Committee, and Miguel Marques Gonçalves Manetelu, Minister of Transport and Communications of Timor-Leste.

The platform is based on Cambodia's successful verify.gov model, a digital public infrastructure solution that reviews and verifies documents issued by government agencies and have a standard QR code as a source of proof of authenticity.

The launch marks a major milestone in the growing digital partnership between Cambodia and Timor-Leste, following the bilateral cooperation agreement signed in January 2025. It also highlights Cambodia's increasing role in exporting digital government solutions and supporting digital transformation efforts across the region.

Cambodia's verify.gov platform has gained international recognition as a Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) initiative, with organizations including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the World Bank, the Digital Public Goods Alliance, and the 50-in-5 Campaign encouraging broader adoption of the technology to strengthen transparency and efficiency in public service delivery.

On the evening of May 27, 2026, His Excellency Ambassador Marcos da Costa hosted courtesy dinner for the Timor-Leste delegation participating in the Southeast Asia Police Badminton Championship. Award of H.E. Doctor Sor Sokha 2nd 2025 in Phnom Penh.

The delegation, representing the National Police of Timor-Leste (PNTL) and the Timor-Leste Badminton Federation, includes Police Assistant Commissioner Mr. Agostino Gomes and Police Chief Superintendent Mr. Damião Correia. We wish our athletes the best of luck as they compete for friendship, solidarity, and regional cooperation!
