Chargé d'Affaires Ken Toko and Public Affairs Officer Christy Gillmore had the pleasure of visiting “Mela,” the first-ever European exhibition by acclaimed American painter Reggie Burrows Hodges. In just one year, Hodges created over 30 new paintings inspired by his time in Malta in 2025, including the largest canvases of his career. In his own words, “Mela” is a poem to Malta. The exhibition is curated by Edith Devaney, Artistic Director of the Malta International Contemporary Art Space (MICAS), and runs through August 30. Many thanks to Edith, MICAS CEO Phyllis Muscat, and MICAS Exhibitions Manager Guillaume Dreyfuss for the wonderful tour! Proud to celebrate American artistic excellence and the cultural ties between the United States and Malta.
