Below is the latest press release from the Police Service Commission on the current recruitment in the Nigeria Police Force.

DISCLAIMER ON FAKE POLICE RECRUITMENT LIST CIRCULATING ON SOCIAL MEDIA

The attention of the Police Service Commission has been drawn to a fake list currently circulating on social media, purporting to be a shortlist of candidates scheduled for medical examination.

The Commission wishes to state categorically that no such shortlist has been released. The evaluation of the written examination is still at its concluding stage, and invitation for medical examination will be communicated to successful applicants in the coming days. This notification will be sent via email, SMS, the recruitment portal (npfapplication.psc.gov.ng), and the Commission’s other official communication channels.

The Commission reiterates its commitment to a merit-based recruitment process, which it has consistently upheld. It believes that the effectiveness of the Police Force depends on the quality of personnel recruited.

Applicants and members of the public are advised to be wary of fraudsters and fake news. All official communications regarding the ongoing recruitment process will be disseminated solely through the Commission’s verified channels.

The Commission reiterates that the recruitment exercise is completely FREE at all stages.

*CP EBONYI CHARGES OFFICERS ON PROFESSIONALISM AFTER IN-HOUSE TRAINING*

On 25th May, 2025, the Commissioner of Police, Ebonyi State Command, CP Hope Urunwa Okafor, psc, mnips, addressed officers who completed an in-house training programme organised by the Command.

In her remarks, the CP congratulated the officers and emphasised that the training was essential given the growing security challenges confronting the nation.

She charged the officers to remain professional, disciplined, and accountable in the discharge of their duties. She further admonished them to be mindful of their conduct both on and off duty, and to refrain from any behaviour that could tarnish the reputation of the Nigeria Police Force.

CP Hope also reminded the officers of the provisions of Force Order 237 relating to the use of fi****ms, stressing that all actions taken in the course of duty must strictly conform with the guidelines contained in the Order.

The officers underwent rigorous training in musketry, combat craft, and weapon handling as part of efforts aimed at enhancing their operational efficiency and readiness.

EBONYI POLICE COMMAND DISMANTLES MOTORCYCLE SNATCHING SYNDICATE.
......RECOVERS 11 STOLEN MOTORCYCLES

The Nigeria Police Force, Ebonyi State Command, under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Hope Urunwa Okafor, psc, mnips, has recorded another significant breakthrough in its fight against crime with the dismantling of a motorcycle snatching syndicate operating within and outside the State.

The breakthrough followed a report received at the Central Police Station, Abakaliki, from one Eze Christian Ifeanyi, who reported that his motorcycle had been stolen from a bank premises in Ikom, Cross River State. Acting on the report and credible intelligence gathered during the investigation, operatives arrested one Anaeto Emmanuel.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect specialises in purchasing stolen motorcycles from members of the syndicate and reselling them to unsuspecting members of the public.

Following a painstaking and intelligence-driven investigation, operatives successfully traced and recovered eleven motorcycles stolen at different times and from various locations across Ebonyi and Cross River States.

The Command is using this medium to call on members of the public whose motorcycles were stolen to visit the Central Police Station, Abakaliki, with relevant documents for possible identification and recovery of their motorcycles.

CP EBONYI ENGAGES RETIRED POLICE OFFICERS ON WELFARE AND PENSION CONCERNS

The Commissioner of Police, Ebonyi State Command, CP Hope Urunwa Okafor, psc, mnips, held a constructive engagement with retired police officers in Ebonyi State.

Speaking on behalf of the retirees, DSP Igwe Solomon (Rtd) welcomed the Commissioner of Police to Ebonyi State and expressed appreciation for the meeting. He also highlighted their concerns regarding the contributory pension scheme and the need for improved welfare for retired officers.

In her response, CP Hope appreciated the retired officers for their years of dedicated service to the nation. She informed them that the Inspector-General of Police is fully aware of their agitations and reiterated that the welfare of both serving and retired officers remains a top priority in the IGP’s agenda for the Force. The CP further disclosed that efforts aimed at improving post-retirement emoluments are already underway.

Delivering the vote of thanks, Hon. Iboko Sylvester commended the Commissioner of Police for the engagement and pledged the continued support of retired officers towards the success of her mandate of protecting lives and property in Ebonyi State.

PRESS STATEMENT

EBONYI POLICE COMMAND ARRESTS “PROPHET” SEEN IN VIRAL VIDEO

The Nigeria Police Force, Ebonyi State Command, has arrested one Nwankpu James following a viral video in which the suspect was seen carrying and handling a child in an abusive and inhumane manner while the child lay on bare ground.

The Commissioner of Police, Ebonyi State Command, Hope Urunwa Okafor, psc. mnips, immediately directed operatives of the Command to ensure the arrest of the suspect and the rescue of the child.

Acting on the directive, operatives traced the suspect and the child’s parents to Isohumini Agbaja Community in Izzi Local Government Area, where the suspect was arrested and the child successfully rescued.

The suspect is currently in custody as investigations into the incident continue. Meanwhile, the rescued child has been admitted to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki (FETHA) for immediate medical attention.

The Command reiterates its commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of all citizens, particularly children, and strongly warns against all forms of child abuse and inhumane acts.
