They described him as a visionary and committed leader whose dedication to strengthening primary healthcare, advancing nutrition interventions, and promoting excellence in service delivery has continued to make a remarkable impact across Oyo State.

OMNCHW 2026 – Nutrition Week
1st – 5th June, 2026
Join us as the Oyo State Primary Health Care Board set to commence oMNCHW Nutrition Week 2026, a dedicated week to improving maternal, newborn and child health through quality nutrition and essential healthcare services.
During the implementation, Vitamin A Supplementation, Deworming, Health Promotion and Awareness, Antenatal Care Services, Immunization, and other essential Maternal and Child Health Care Services will be administered and feature across designated Primary Health Care Centres and communities.

As the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) training progressed, subsequent days were dedicated to intensive theory based and practical learning sessions aimed at strengthening participants’ knowledge and professional capacity in child healthcare management.
The programme combined classroom engagements with field-based activities to provide Officers on Operational Level across the state with a comprehensive AND practical learning experience.
As part of the practical component of the IMCI training, participants visited the Children’s Ward and Outpatient Department (OPD) of General Hospital Oyo, alongside Basorun Primary Health Centre Aafin Oyo. The visitation exercise was conducted under the guidance of facilitators and the Programme Officer, Mrs. Mosunmade Adepeju. The sessions provided participants with hands on training and real-life clinical exposure, enabling them to apply theoretical knowledge to practical case management and effective child healthcare delivery.

The team from the Oyo State Primary Health Care Board led by Dr. Adewole Adeyemi, DPHRS, alongside the Gender Based Violence Desk Officer, Mrs. Balikis Olawoyin, and the Senior Programme Manager of CCPRH, Mrs. Tolulope Babawarun, her team members and Community Based Organizations (CBOs), paid an advocacy and stakeholders engagement visit to Oba Sefiu Olawale Oyebola Adeyeri III, Aseyin of Iseyin to further strengthen the campaign towards ending Female Ge***al Mutilation (FGM) in the state. Also present at the engagement was Oba Ademola Olugbile Folakanmi, Alado of Ado Awaye.
During the visit, Dr. Adewole Adeyemi commended the Aseyin for his continuous support towards the fight against FGM, while stressing that more collaborative efforts are still needed as reports of the harmful practice are still being recorded during some traditional events within the LGA. Mrs. Balikis Olawoyin further appealed for intensified support and broader stakeholders engagement across communities to sustain awareness and advocacy efforts.
Speaking at the meeting, the Alado of Ado Awaye, Oba Ademola Olugbile Folakanmi pledged his full support and readiness to join the campaign against FGM. In his remarks, the Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Sefiu Olawale Oyebola Adeyeri III expressed strong displeasure towards Female Ge***al Mutilation, describing the act as barbaric and a harmful traditional practice that must be eradicated through continuous awareness and enlightenment. He reaffirmed his utmost commitment and support towards ending FGM in all communities.
