As the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) training progressed, subsequent days were dedicated to intensive theory based and practical learning sessions aimed at strengthening participants’ knowledge and professional capacity in child healthcare management.

The programme combined classroom engagements with field-based activities to provide Officers on Operational Level across the state with a comprehensive AND practical learning experience.

As part of the practical component of the IMCI training, participants visited the Children’s Ward and Outpatient Department (OPD) of General Hospital Oyo, alongside Basorun Primary Health Centre Aafin Oyo. The visitation exercise was conducted under the guidance of facilitators and the Programme Officer, Mrs. Mosunmade Adepeju. The sessions provided participants with hands on training and real-life clinical exposure, enabling them to apply theoretical knowledge to practical case management and effective child healthcare delivery.
