The Director General, Engr Mubarak Shehu Ladan FNSE FNIWE, today successfully defended the Agency's 2026 budget before the Local Government Affairs Committee of the Kaduna State House of Assembly. The committee applauded the DGs efforts and urged him not to relent on his efforts in ensuring the rural communities of Kaduna State have access to Water Supply and Sanitation services.

Kaduna State receives award from Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation as the best State in impactful communication, advocacy and behavioural change efforts that promotes nationwide Sanitation awareness. The award was given as a result of the efforts of the State Government under H.E the Governor Sen. Uba Sani CON through RUWASSA. The Director General, Engr. Engr Mubarak Shehu Ladan, the Director‑General of RUWASSA and his management team presented the Agency’s 2026‑2028 budget proposal to the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission, estimate committee chaired by the Hon. Commissioner, Budget and Planning Commission, Hon Mukhtar Ahmed Monrovia. In his presentation, the DG highlighted the continuous provision of portable water supply and sanitation facilities as a major focus for the period, underscoring the government’s commitment to improving water access and hygiene across the state. Another feat was achieved as the Agency received recognition for continuing to work using climate‑change design, and a budget line to support Nutrition was also acknowledged for RUWASSA. The Director General, Kaduna State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (KD-RUWASSA), Engr Mubarak Shehu Ladan attended the Nigerian-Hungarian Water Forum 2025 on the 4th of November, at the Abuja Continental Hotel.
The forum served as an avenue for idea exchange, solution finding and propagation of memoranda between Nigerian Authorities and Hungarian counterparts, aimed at enhancing Water Engineering, Flood Management and Data Processing Systems.
While delivering a paper presentation titled “Challenges of Rural Water Supply in Northern Nigeria”, the DG KD-RUWASSA shared insights into Kaduna State’s remarkable footprint in the provision of potable water for thousands of residents across rural communities, as well as community inclusion strategies towards sustainable management of water supply and sanitation infrastructures.
Engr Ladan also commended His Excellency Governor Uba Sani Senator Uba Sani , for providing an enabling environment, sighting the improvement of security situation across previously troubled areas as a catalyst for inclusive development. The DG further announced the commencement of water supply and sanitation projects across several communities in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area having been neglected for many years due to insecurity.
