PROMASIDOR NIGERIA LIMITED HOLDS HEALTH AWARENESS PROGRAMME FOR PUPILS OF ANWARU-UL-ISLAM AND JUBRIL MARTINS PRIMARY SCHOOLS, AGEGE

Pupils of Anwaru-ul-Islam Primary School and Jubril Martins Primary School, Agege, were today, 11th June 2026, treated to an exciting and educational experience as Promasidor Nigeria Limited organized a health awareness programme aimed at promoting healthy living among school children. The programme was held with the approval and support of the Education Secretary of Agege Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Hajia Jannat Arinola Bashorun-Olokodana.

The event featured an informative health talk delivered by representatives of Promasidor Nigeria Limited, who educated the pupils on the importance of maintaining good personal hygiene, eating nutritious meals, engaging in regular physical exercise, and adopting healthy habits that support their growth and development.

The pupils actively participated in the interactive session, where they learned practical ways to stay healthy and prevent common illnesses. They were encouraged to embrace healthy lifestyles through proper handwashing, balanced nutrition, adequate rest, and regular physical activities.

As part of the programme, Promasidor Nigeria Limited distributed free sachets of Cowbell Chocolate to the pupils. The thoughtful gesture brought smiles to the faces of the children, who happily received the nutritious dairy product known for its rich taste and nutritional value.

Following the health education session, the atmosphere became even more lively as the pupils participated in various games and recreational activities. The fun-filled exercises encouraged teamwork, friendship, sportsmanship, and physical fitness among the children. The excitement and enthusiasm displayed by the pupils reflected the success of the programme in combining education with recreation.

AGEGE LGEA PARTNERS SOCIAL WATCH ANTI-DRUG ABUSE ADVOCACY (SWADA) TO SENSITIZE PUPILS ON THE DANGERS OF DRUG ABUSE

As part of its unwavering commitment to the holistic development and well-being of school children, the Agege Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), under the visionary leadership of the Education Secretary, Hajia Jannat Arinola Bashorun-Olokodana, in collaboration with Social Watch Anti-Drug Abuse Advocacy, organized a one-day sensitization programme for pupils at the Oyewole Primary School Complex, Agege, on Monday, 8th June 2026.

The sensitization programme was designed to educate pupils on the dangers associated with drug abuse, substance misuse, and other harmful social vices that pose significant threats to the future of young people. The initiative aligns with the authority's commitment to creating a safe and conducive learning environment while nurturing responsible and productive citizens.

During the programme, facilitators from Social Watch Anti-Drug Abuse Advocacy engaged the pupils in interactive sessions, enlightening them on the various forms of drugs commonly abused, the devastating health consequences of substance abuse, and the social, emotional, and academic implications associated with drug addiction. The pupils were also educated on strategies for resisting peer pressure and making positive life choices.

Speaking on the importance of the sensitization exercise, the Education Secretary, Hajia Jannat Bashorun-Olokodana ably represented by a Councilor at the School Support Section in the LGEA reiterated the need for continuous awareness programmes within schools to protect children from the growing menace of drug abuse. He emphasized that prevention through education remains one of the most effective approaches to safeguarding the future of young learners.

He further noted that the partnership between Agege LGEA and Social Watch Anti-Drug Abuse Advocacy (SWADA) demonstrates a shared commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles, moral values, and responsible behavior among pupils. According to him, early exposure to drug abuse awareness empowers
