AGEGE LEGISLATIVE ARM PASSES BY-LAW AT THIRD READING, COMMENDS EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP AND DEVELOPMENTAL ADVANCEMENTS IN AGEGE

The 10th Agege Legislative Arm, under the distinguished leadership of the Leader of the House, Hon. Adeshina Haruna, today convened its plenary sitting with all Honourable Councillors in attendance, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to robust legislation, good governance, and sustainable grassroots development.

A major highlight of the sitting was the consideration and successful passage of a proposed by-law through its Third Reading, representing a significant legislative achievement in the House's ongoing efforts to strengthen the institutional framework of governance and enhance service delivery across Agege Local Government.

During deliberations, members of the Legislative Arm extolled the Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government, Hon. Ganiyu Vinod Obasa, for his visionary leadership, innovative governance approach, and outstanding developmental accomplishments across the length and breadth of Agege. The legislators observed that the administration's people-centred policies, strategic initiatives, and infrastructural interventions continue to foster socio-economic growth and improve the quality of life of residents throughout the local government.

In the same vein, the House conveyed its profound appreciation and warm felicitations to the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. The 10th Agege Legislative Arm today held its plenary under the leadership of the Leader of the House, Hon. Adeshina Haruna. The plenary session focused primarily on the Agege By-Law, which successfully passed through its Second Reading stage.

During deliberations, members of the legislative arm carefully examined the provisions of the proposed by-law, highlighting its importance in strengthening governance, improving community development, and ensuring effective administration within Agege Local Government.

The House also used the opportunity to commend the Executive Chairman for his remarkable innovations and the visible developmental strides being witnessed across Agege. The legislators acknowledged the chairman’s commitment to policies and initiatives that continue to enhance the welfare of residents and promote sustainable progress within the local government.

Furthermore, the legislative arm applauded the chairman for initiating and supporting the ongoing Iftar programme across the seven wards in Agege. The programme, which is being supervised by the respective councillors, was described as a commendable gesture that promotes unity, compassion, and support for residents during the holy month of Ramadan.

The plenary concluded with members reaffirming their commitment to collaborative governance and continued support for initiatives that will further advance the growth and prosperity of Agege Local Government.

30 DAYS FREE IFTAR INITIATIVE ACROSS AGEGE

The 10th Legislative Arm of Agege Local Government extends profound felicitations to the Muslim Ummah as we observe the sacred month of Ramadan, a season emblematic of piety, sacrifice, benevolence, and communal solidarity.

In a distinguished demonstration of compassionate governance and responsive leadership, the Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government, Abdul-Ganiu Vinod Obasa, has since 17th February 2026 commenced the Annual 30 Days Free Iftar Programme across the seven wards of Agege.

This far reaching humanitarian initiative, presently ongoing, provides daily Iftar meals at 6:30 PM throughout the holy month, thereby reinforcing the ethos of inclusive administration, social responsibility, and grassroots welfare.

The Legislative Arm acknowledges and commends this noble undertaking, which exemplifies leadership anchored in empathy, unity, and service to humanity. It further enjoins residents to uphold the virtues of peace, moderation, and collective harmony that Ramadan graciously inspires.

May this blessed month usher tranquility into our homes, fortitude into our hearts, and enduring prosperity into our beloved constituency.

The Leader, 10th Agege Legislative Arm, Hon. Adeshina Haruna, on behalf of the Legislative Arm, witnessed and affirmed the official signing of the 2026 Budget of Restoration, Innovation, and Development for Agege Local Government, a comprehensive fiscal framework strategically designed to accelerate inclusive growth and sustainable transformation across the local government area.

The 2026 Budget is the outcome of an extensive and transparent process, anchored on rigorous planning, broad stakeholder engagement, and strategic alignment. This process was reinforced during the Budget Retreat held from December 1st to 3rd, 2025, and subsequently validated through a detailed budget presentation later in the month. Each allocation within the budget reflects a deliberate commitment to the welfare of residents, infrastructural advancement, improved service delivery, and long-term socio-economic development of Agege.

Under the oversight of the Legislative Council, the budget prioritizes efficiency, accountability, and results-driven governance. It introduces smarter systems and innovative approaches aimed at delivering tangible improvements outcomes that the people of Agege can see, feel, and experience in their everyday lives.

Speaking on the significance of the budget, Hon. Adeshina Haruna reaffirmed the Legislative Council’s resolve to ensure prudent implementation and strict adherence to the budgetary provisions, noting that Agege’s future will be shaped not merely by promises, but by sound planning, data-driven decisions, and disciplined ex*****on.
