On August 4, 2025, the state ACSM team through the Borno State Primary Health Care Development Board, in collaboration with Chigari Foundation, UNICEF Nigeria and other development partners, paid a high-level advocacy visit to His Royal Highness, the Shehu of Borno, at his palace in Maiduguri.
The visit focused on strengthening community engagement through the Revised Name-Based Routine Immunization (RI) Strategy, the SPARK Project, and In-Between Round Activities (IBRA).
His Royal Highness, the Shehu of Borno, expressed his satisfaction with the ACSM team for their thoughtful and well-coordinated approach to advocacy.
He commended the team for their adherence to proper protocol before, during, and after health campaigns, and offered valuable advice to further strengthen community trust and improve health outcomes across the state.

From 29th–31st July 2025, UNICEF Nigeria in collaboration with Borno State Primary Health Care Development Board conducted a 3-day Training of Trainers on Community Engagement & Accountability (CEA) to Strengthen Coordination at the Lower Levels in Borno and Yobe States.
This capacity-building session brought together members of the CEA Working Group to strengthen coordination and enhance accountability mechanisms at the local government and community levels.
By empowering key actors with innovative practical tools and strategies, we’re fostering inclusive participation, improving community feedback systems, and ensuring that humanitarian responses are more responsive and people-centered.
