Rt. Hon. Zainab Gimba: Sustaining Effective Representation for Bama, Ngala, and Kala-Balge Beyond 2027
By MB. Umar
In democratic governance, continuity is most valuable when it is anchored in performance, credibility, and public trust. For the people of Bama, Ngala, and Kala-Balge Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Zainab Gimba has come to represent these values through consistent and people-focused representation in the House of Representatives.
As the current Member representing this diverse and strategic constituency, Zainab Gimba has demonstrated a deep understanding of both the legislative responsibilities of her office and the everyday realities faced by her constituents.
Her tenure has been characterized by purposeful engagement, advocacy for development-oriented policies, and a commitment to ensuring that the voices of Bama, Ngala, and Kala-Balge are heard at the national level.
What distinguishes her leadership is not only experience, but effectiveness. Over time, she has built strong institutional relationships that translate into tangible benefits for her constituency ranging from constituency interventions and social programs to sustained legislative participation.
Her leadership reflects a rare balance between grassroots accessibility and national relevance, reinforcing trust among the people she represents.
The growing call for her to be entrusted with representation for a third term is therefore neither incidental nor sentimental.
It is a call grounded in evidence of service, stability, and results. In a region that continues to rebuild and reposition itself socially and economically, continuity in leadership is essential to consolidate gains and deepen development efforts.
As the 2027 electoral cycle approaches, the central question before the electorate is one of choice and consequence: whether to disrupt progress or to strengthen it.
The record clearly shows that she possesses the institutional knowledge, legislative maturity, and people-centered vision required to advance the interests of Bama, Ngala, and Kala-Balge more effectively.
Rt. Hon. Zainab Gimba remains the answer for 2027.

Rt. Hon. Zainab Gimba Empowers Communities with Solar Street Light Projects in Abbaram and Goniri Wards, Bama LGA
In a strategic move aimed at enhancing security, promoting socio-economic activities, and improving the overall quality of life of her constituents, Rt. Hon. Zainab Gimba, PhD, has successfully installed solar-powered street lights in Abbaram and Goniri wards of Bama Local Government Area, Borno State.
The solar street light intervention reflects her unflinching commitment to sustainable development, community safety, and grassroots empowerment, particularly in post-conflict communities striving to rebuild and regain stability. By leveraging renewable energy solutions, the project addresses long-standing challenges associated with poor electricity supply while aligning with global best practices on clean and environmentally friendly energy.
Residents of Abbaram and Goniri wards have long faced difficulties arising from inadequate nighttime illumination, which affected movement, commercial activities, and security.
The newly installed solar street lights now provide reliable lighting after dusk, significantly improving visibility, safety, and social interaction within the communities. Markets, local businesses, and communal spaces can now function more effectively, fostering economic resilience and social cohesion.
Beyond infrastructure, the initiative demonstrates a deeper understanding of the security-development nexus. Well-lit streets discourage criminal activities, enhance surveillance, and create safer environments for women, children, and the elderly. Community members have expressed appreciation for the project, noting that it has restored a sense of dignity and normalcy to their daily lives.
Rt. Hon. Zainab Gimba’s intervention also underscores her consistent advocacy for equitable development across all wards, ensuring that rural and recovering communities are not left behind. The choice of solar technology ensures durability, cost-effectiveness, and independence from unstable power grids, guaranteeing long-term benefits for the people of Bama Local Government.
Speaking through community leaders, beneficiaries praised the initiative as timely and impactful, describing it as a testament to leadership that listens, responds, and delivers tangible results. The project adds to her growing portfolio of people-centered interventions focused on education, security, energy access, and community rebuilding.
As Bama continues its journey of recovery and development, initiatives such as the solar street light installations in Abbaram and Goniri wards stand as clear evidence of purposeful representation and visionary leadership. Rt. Hon. Zainab Gimba remains steadfast in her mission to promote inclusive growth, strengthen local resilience, and ensure that development reaches every corner of her constituency.

Zainab Gimba Attends Joint National Assembly Sitting During Presidential Budget Presentation
Rt. Hon. Dr. Zainab Gimba (Bama/Ngala/Kala-Balge Federal Constituency) was in attendance today at the Joint Sitting of the National Assembly, where President Bola Ahmed Tinubu presented the proposed 2026 Appropriation Bill to lawmakers.
The joint session which formally commences the Federal Government’s annual budget process provided members of both the Senate and the House of Representatives an overview of government spending priorities, macroeconomic assumptions, and projected revenue frameworks for the coming fiscal year.
As a serving Member of the House, her presence aligns with the constitutional role of legislators in receiving the budget proposal before it proceeds to committee-level examination, sectoral engagements, and legislative amendments. The process will involve detailed scrutiny of allocations, oversight considerations, and the harmonisation of budgetary objectives with national development plans.
Hon. Dr. Zainab Gimba, whose constituency is located in Borno State in the North-East, is expected to participate in subsequent parliamentary deliberations as committees begin to review expenditure lines relating to security, infrastructure, education, social programmes, and humanitarian response areas that are routinely prioritised in federal budgeting for conflict-affected regions.
With the 2026 proposal now formally tabled before the National Assembly, the legislative cycle advances to appraisal, negotiation, and eventual passage a process in which all Members, including Hon. Dr. Zainab Gimba, have statutory responsibility to ensure alignment between policy objectives, revenue capacity, and implementation frameworks.
Today’s session marks the first stage of that process, and attendance by representatives across the federation, including Dr. Zainab Gimba, reflects Parliament’s collective role in shaping the Federal Government’s fiscal direction for 2026.
