The Voice with Chehzman

The elite class in Nigeria appears to be one of the greatest obstacles to the nation's development and progress (weapon fashioned against the common man).

Today, I watched a documentary in which a Nigerian professor based in Canada expressed deep frustration with Nigeria's political and elite class. According to him, many of today's leaders benefited from an era when Nigeria provided free and quality education, functional public institutions, and a government that worked more effectively for its citizens.

Ironically, those who experienced the benefits of a working system have largely failed to preserve or improve it for future generations.

Whether Nigeria remains united or not, one thing is certain: if we do not fix our education system and reorient our people toward a common national identity as Nigerians, we risk losing our nation while searching for it.

A country cannot develop when its citizens are divided by ethnicity, RELIGION, and political interests, while education and civic values continue to decline. They weaponized education in most northern states and today it has turn to a weapon of mass destruction.

The future of Nigeria depends on what we teach our children today and the values we choose to uphold as a people.
