𝐋𝐑𝐂 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐀: Highlighting, fascinating and informative facts
about various celebrations from UPHSD-LRC Molino Campus.
Eid al-Adha coincides with the conclusion of the annual Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca, one of the Five Pillars of Islam that financially and physically able Muslims are expected to perform at least once in their lives. The celebration commonly begins with special communal prayers called Salat al-Eid, followed by sermons, family visits, and gatherings within the community. A key tradition during Eid al-Adha is the symbolic sacrifice of an animal, which may include a sheep, goat, cow, or camel. The observance honors Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion and willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. Eid al-Adha’s date changes every year because it follows the Islamic lunar calendar, which is shorter than the Gregorian calendar.

Upgrading Access: Installation of 10 New Computers in the College Library Internet Section
On March 30, 2026, the Learning Resource Center successfully facilitated the installation of 10 newly purchased computers in the Internet Section of the LRC-College Library. This initiative was undertaken to enhance access to digital resources and a conducive learning environment for students and faculty.
In line with the Student Satisfaction Survey results, the upgrading of technological facilities and equipment is deemed essential to further enhance the quality of library services, improve access to information resources, and support the evolving academic and research needs of students and faculty members.
These additional computer units are expected to improve the delivery of information services and accommodate the increasing demand for technology-assisted learning within the university.
The LRC extends its sincere gratitude to Dr. Rosalie M. Armando, IT Director / DPO, for her valuable support and guidance in the implementation of this project.
Special thanks are also given to Ms. Liza Dimatatac, Purchasing Manager, as well as Ms. Inna Meilat for directing Sir. John Ededel L Matibag and Sir. Anjumer A Reroma, the Technical Support Specialists in Installing the 10 new computers with help from the OJT personnel. Ms. Trisha Mae Narrido for her help in coordinating with them for the installation of these computers in the Library.

LRC Chief Ms. Joy Dee Bacsa, together with BED Librarians Mr. Joven Nasol, Ms. Diana Tandaan, Ms. Celina Ramirez, and Ms. Dhealyne Mercado, and LRC BED Support Staff Ms. Melinda Arceta, Ms. Rosemarie Bernales, and Mr. Dominic Yap, participated in the HARAYA Storytelling Festival 2026 on May 15, 2026, at Museo Pambata. Carrying the theme “Binago. Binuo. Binuhay.”, the festival offered a full day of storytelling-centered activities, theatrical performances, workshops, interactive creative spaces, cultural experiences, storytelling sessions, and engaging surprises designed to spark imagination, creativity, and meaningful learning.
The LRC team actively participated in the festival’s workshops and activities as part of their continuing professional development, particularly to strengthen storytelling competencies essential to Basic Education librarianship. Storytelling is an important skill for librarians serving young learners, as it supports literacy development, reading engagement, imagination, cultural appreciation, and meaningful learning experiences within the library setting. Through their participation, the librarians gained insights, strategies, and creative approaches that may be applied in future library programs, reading initiatives, and storytelling sessions for students. Held as part of the celebration of the 30th Founding Anniversary of the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA Molino Campus, participation in the festival reflected the University’s commitment to holistic learning, cultural engagement, and continuous professional enrichment. The activity also deepened participants’ appreciation of Filipino culture through various storytelling forms and enhanced their communication, creativity, collaboration, and audience engagement skills.
The Learning Resource Center likewise extends its sincere gratitude to the University Top Management for approving the department’s request to participate in this meaningful and enriching activity. The opportunity allowed the LRC team to learn, explore, and experience innovative storytelling practices that will further strengthen library services and student engagement initiatives. Through participation in events such as HARAYA, the Learning Resource Center continues to champion lifelong learning, creativity, and culturally responsive educational experiences for the Perpetualite community.
