DENR PENRO Bohol and DENR CENRO Tagbilaran City conducted a joint plogging activity in Barangay Manga, Tagbilaran City. This event marked the official start of the Philippine Environment Month 2026 celebration under the nationwide theme: โInspired by Nature, for Climate, for Our Future.โ The activity commenced at Manga Bridge and concluded at the DENR PENRO Bohol Office, covering a distance of approximately 3 kilometers. Participants collected a total of 248 kilograms of waste, equivalent to 50 sacks, which consisted primarily of plastic wrappers, beverage bottles, and other discarded materials. Following the collection, a Unified Flag Raising Ceremony and Kickoff Program were held to formalize the institutional commitment to environmental management.
A total of 157 participants joined the activity, comprising 79 male and 78 female individuals from the DENR, partner agencies, stakeholders, and local volunteers. Private sector partners, including representatives from South Palms Resort Panglao and JPark Resort Panglao, were also in attendance. Security assistance was managed by the PNP Cortes, while the RHU Cortes provided medical personnel and a standby ambulance, operating in close coordination with Barangay Manga officials to ensure operational safety.
During the kickoff program, CENRO Glicerita Racho delivered the welcome remarks, expressing appreciation to all participating agencies, partners, and volunteers while emphasizing the role of community cooperation in strengthening environmental protection initiatives. PENRO Wilson Henson then delivered an institutional message highlighting individual and public responsibility in conservation. His remarks noted that environmental protection is an integral component of public service and individual duty, encouraging sustained, concrete action from all participants to build a sustainable legacy.

In celebration of the kickoff of Philippine Environment Month, CENRO Talibon, in coordination with various Barangay Local Government Units (BLGUs) and community volunteers, conducted a collaborative plogging activity. The environmental initiative successfully mobilized 167 participants who gathered a total of 280 kilograms of waste along public roadsides. This joint effort aimed to address local waste management while promoting institutional and civic environmental responsibility.
During the program, OIC, CENR Officer Edgar L. Ricafort emphasized the collaborative nature of the activity, noting that the true essence of the initiative lies in the unity of the people cooperating for a common purpose. His remarks highlighted how coordinated community action serves as an effective mechanism for localized environmental management and conservation.
The activity demonstrated the practical impact of structured community involvement in regional waste compliance. By integrating waste collection into a synchronized civic effort, the participating agencies and local volunteers effectively cleared public spaces while fostering a long-term culture of shared accountability for environmental preservation.

A total of 765 employees from various national government agencies gathered in Sudlon, Lahug this morning to officially launch Philippine Environment Month 2026 with the theme, โ๐ผ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ฆ ๐๐๐ก๐ข๐๐. ๐น๐๐ ๐ถ๐๐๐๐๐ก๐, ๐น๐๐ ๐๐ข๐ ๐น๐ข๐ก๐ข๐๐. #๐๐จ๐ฐ๐
๐จ๐ซ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ฆ๐๐ญ๐โ
The celebration began with a parade to the Ecotech Center, where participating agencies showcased environmental advocacy through creative hand-made placards. Alongside the National Agencies in Sudlon- name all 13, agencies from outside the Sudlon complex, including OCD, CTU, CNU, VSMMC, DSWD-7, and TESDA-7, also joined the event in solidarity.
At the Ecotech Center, participants were welcomed by DENR flagship mascots before taking part in a unified flag-raising ceremony and the signing of a Pledge of Commitment to Love Our Earth. Through the covenant, agency heads and regional directors pledged to strengthen climate action, promote circular economy practices, encourage eco-friendly products, and eliminate single-use plastics in their respective offices.
The opening program concluded with a lively Yell and Cheer Competition among 11 participating agencies.

Energy, teamwork, and environmental awareness took center stage as DENR Region 7 successfully conducted the Month of the Ocean Amazing Race, bringing together participating regional government agencies for a fun-filled and meaningful competition.
The program officially opened through the message of Assistant Regional Director (ARD) Jose Cleo Cary Colis, together with Chief of Staff Luisito Babaran and Conservation and Development Division (CDD) Chief Reginaldo Bueno, who welcomed participants and emphasized the importance of collective action in protecting our oceans and coastal ecosystems.
Participants navigated through exciting and interactive stations designed to test not only speed and teamwork, but also environmental knowledge and awareness. Activities included:
