𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒: 𝐋𝐀𝐏𝐔-𝐋𝐀𝐏𝐔 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝟔𝟓𝐓𝐇 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍!

The SK Federation of Lapu-Lapu City, led by Federation President Hon. Orlan Joseph C. Carungay, joined the celebration of the City’s 65th Charter Day Anniversary, commemorating six and a half decades of progress, resilience, and development since its foundation.

As an ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, Hon. Carungay joined the City Mayor, fellow city councilors, and other local officials in leading the Grand Entrance Parade, one of the highlights of the celebration. Following the city officials was the parade of the city’s 30 barangays, proudly represented by their respective Barangay Captains, Sangguniang Kabataan Chairpersons, and delegations, showcasing unity, community pride, and active grassroots leadership. The parade continued with a vibrant show of force from various city offices and departments, highlighting their contributions to public service and local governance. It was followed by a presentation of the city’s mobility assets, disaster preparedness capabilities, and peace and security response units, reflecting Lapu-Lapu City's continued commitment to safety, efficiency, and sustainable development.

The celebration also highlighted the remarkable transformation of Lapu-Lapu City through the years, recognizing its achievements and milestones that have shaped it into one of the region’s leading urban centers. Adding significance to the occasion was the awarding of Service Awards to dedicated city employees in recognition of their years of commitment and exemplary public service. Likewise, barangays that successfully passed the Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangays (SGLGB) were honored for their outstanding performance in governance, accountability, and community development.

The event served as a testament to the collective efforts of the city government, public servants, and local communities in advancing Lapu-Lapu City’s vision of inclusive growth and excellence in public service.

As part of the month-long 65th Charter Day celebration of Lapu-Lapu City and in observance of World Oceans Day and Coral Triangle Day, the SK Federation of Lapu-Lapu City, together with SK Chairpersons, officials and youth participants, joined Ecovibe: Kabataan para sa Kalikupan, organized by the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) in partnership with DENR Region VII.

The one-day activity featured lectures, quizzes, interactive games, and trivia focused on coastal and marine ecosystems. Aimed primarily at Sangguniang Kabataan officials, the program sought to strengthen environmental awareness and encourage youth leadership in promoting sustainability and environmental conservation within their communities.

In compliance with the Ordinance No. 17-062-2026, establishing the Lapu-Lapu City Educational Assistance for Higher Education, the Local Youth Development Office of Lapu-Lapu City, as the main implementer of the said ordinance, is proud to inform all 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 that we are now accepting applicants for this academic semester.

Please refer to the 𝐅𝐀𝐐𝐬, 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 below for guidance on applying for the educational financial assistance program. Successful applicants will receive an initial educational financial assistance grant of Php 5,000.00 for the current semester.

Earlier today, May 25, 2026, various sectors from Lapu-Lapu City, including SK and KK members and officials, as well as other youth representatives, participated in the 2026 World No To***co Day celebration held at Hoops Dome in Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City.

The youth delegates, led by SK Federation Treasurer 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐑𝐞𝐚 𝐅. 𝐓𝐮𝐥𝐨𝐝 and member, 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐡 𝐀𝐧𝐧 𝐀𝐛𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧, joined various sectors in supporting the meaningful campaign against the use of to***co and va**ng products. Their participation highlighted the youth sector’s commitment to promoting a healthier and safer community.

As part of the program, the delegates took part in the pledge of commitment, expressing their strong support for initiatives aimed at protecting the public, especially the youth, from the harmful effects of to***co smoking and va**ng. The activity also reinforced the importance of collective action in building a smoke-free and vape-free future for the community.

𝐒𝐊 𝐅𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐚𝐩𝐮-𝐋𝐚𝐩𝐮 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 | 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧

The SK Federation of Lapu-Lapu City successfully convened its 2nd Special Session yesterday at the ABC Conference Room, Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City. The special session was called to formally welcome the courtesy visit of the City Director of DILG-Lapu-Lapu and to discuss matters concerning the ongoing Mayor’s Cup, federation and member concerns, and other relevant issues affecting the youth sector.

Prior to the official opening of the session, Congressman Hon. Junard “Ahong” Chan graced the session and discussed the infrastructure projects and improvements being planned to address various concerns within Lapu-Lapu City. Congressman Ahong also expressed his commitment to support every SK Chairperson in implementing projects that may be assisted through his office. He further reminded everyone that, as fellow public servants, they are one family working together in service to the Oponganons.

City Director of DILG-Lapu-Lapu, Dr. Neila Aquino, CESO V, also conducted her first courtesy visit to the Federation and discussed important matters including SK qualifications, sanctions, the status of the SK Full Disclosure Policy (SKFDP), and the DILG Memorandum regarding the inventory and turnover of Barangay and SK properties.

Meanwhile, representatives from the Lapu-Lapu City Sports Commission, headed by Commissioner Vince Dominique Carungay, responded to the concerns and queries raised by the members and laid down action plans and arrangements to effectively address these matters. Furthermore, members of the Federation renewed their call for better coordination, teamwork, communication, attendance and leadership by example among federation members to further improve programs and initiatives addressing the needs of the youth. This call was fully supported and acknowledged by the Federation President, Hon. Orlan Joseph C. Carungay.

The special session concluded with a renewed commitment from the Federation to further strengthen and enhance its public service efforts for the welfare and benefit of all Oponganon youths.
