What does it mean to keep a tradition alive? Sometimes, it means saying yes to something that has never been done before.

When a client requested a 3.3 ft-wide by 20ft-long seamless Inaul fabric, the answer seemed impossible.

Yet this fabric now exists because skilled weavers chose to push the boundaries of what was thought possible.

Check out in her own words, Janessa Sapal Sulaik-nik, a social entrepreneur and the main organizer for this project.

As we celebrate Filipino Heritage Month, this reminds us that heritage is not only about preserving the past. It is also about supporting the people who continue to innovate within tradition, ensuring that our cultural knowledge remains relevant, resilient, and alive for future generations.

A country’s story can sometimes fit inside a few square centimeters. For decades, Philippine postage stamps have documented the people, places, traditions, plants, and histories that shaped the nation.
