The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation–Local Health Insurance Office (PhilHealth-LHIO) Borongan gathered more than 300 Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) during the “BHW Summit 2026” held at the Provincial Capitol Gym in Borongan City on May 21.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | The Social Health Insurance Academy (SHIA) successfully conducted the Social Health Insurance Education Series (SHInES) for Human Resource Personnel of Partner Agencies in the Province of Masbate. The three-day training program was held on May 13-15, 2026, at Uni'ca Hija Hotel & Resort, Masbate City, Masbate.

The training aimed to empower HR practitioners to become effective advocates and partners in disseminating accurate PhilHealth information to members of their respective offices. It also sought to strengthen awareness and promote the continuous implementation of the National Health Insurance Program under Universal Health Care, including PhilHealth’s expanded and latest benefits and services for all Filipinos, particularly the PhilHealth Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP).

The program was successfully implemented by SHIA under the leadership of Senior Manager Henry V. Almanon, in collaboration with PhilHealth Regional Office V led by Regional Vice President Alberto C. Manduriao. The activity was supported and attended by Dr. Ronald E. Santelices, Chief of the Field Operations Division of PRO V, together with the Public Affairs Unit headed by Leri B. Ilagan and her staff, as well as the Local Health Insurance Office in Masbate headed by Norlinda “Butz” C. Castillo.
