The Davao del Norte Investment Promotion Center (DNIPC), led by Ms. Joevynar M. Miedes, MBA, LEDIPO-Designate, facilitated a special meeting today, between the Davao del Norte Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DDNCCII) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Davao del Norte Provincial Office to discuss key preparations and collaborative initiatives for the upcoming MSME Development Week 2026.

The meeting was presided over by DDNCCII President Mr. Rene T. Bongabong, while the DTI delegation was led by Division Chief Mr. Erick Elipian on behalf of Provincial Director Atty. Zerline T. Balleque. The discussion underscored the commitment of both public and private sector partners to advancing entrepreneurship, and strengthening MSME support mechanisms in Davao del Norte.

The discussion centered on showcasing Tagum City’s investment opportunities and strengthening local economic promotion efforts.

Jubahib, paving the way for programs that will empower local innovators, entrepreneurs, and future startup founders.

Also present during the meeting were former Board Member and now Consultant to the Vice Governor, Arch. Nicandro “Nickel” Suaybaguio, Jr., together with the rest of the Vice Governor’s Office team.

The Provincial Government of Davao del Norte, through the Davao del Norte Investment Promotion Center (DNIPC), led by Ms. Joevynar M. Miedes, MBA, DMO IV, LEDIPO-Designate, conducted a Product–Market Readiness Workshop for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) on Thursday, 28 May 2026 at the Panabo City District Jail (PCDJ), Panabo City.

The initiative aimed to further enhance the capabilities of PDLs engaged in handicraft production—including handcrafted bags and woven products—by strengthening product quality, improving market positioning, and building enterprise readiness.

In his message, JSUPT Erwin P. Esden, District Jail Warden, emphasized the importance of skills development programs in preparing PDLs for productive and dignified reintegration into society, while SJO3 Robert Dawn M. Rodriguez, Welfare and Development Officer of BJMP–Panabo City District Jail, highlighted the role of livelihood initiatives in supporting rehabilitation and reintegration.

The technical session on product–market fit and product presentation was facilitated by Mr. Arvin James L. Lupas, followed by a hands-on workshop that allowed participants to apply key concepts. In the afternoon, Ms. Goldamira V. Dapit conducted the Technical Talk on Costing and guided participants through a workshop on pricing strategies and basic financial management.

A Gender and Development (GAD) orientation was also conducted as part of the program.

Participants were likewise encouraged to organize themselves into an association to strengthen collaboration and improve the marketing and sustainability of their handcrafted products.

Through this initiative, the Provincial Government of Davao del Norte, through DNIPC, continues to champion rehabilitation-centered livelihood development and inclusive reintegration through skills enhancement and enterprise building.

The Provincial Government of Davao del Norte, through the office of the Assistant Provincial Administrator for Operations (APAO) and the Davao del Norte Investment Promotion Center, conducted the Multi-Sectoral Forum on GreenBridge Partnership: MOA Drafting and Consultation, Friday, 22 May 2026.

The forum brought together representatives from PGO, PAGRO, PEO, PEEDO, PADO–EWDD, and PADO–CDD, along with development partners and private sector stakeholders, to strengthen collaboration between the local government and private sector in advancing agribusiness development, investment promotion, and PPP-aligned initiatives in the province.

In his opening message, Atty. Ralph P. dela Cruz, LtCol PA (Ret), Provincial Administrator, emphasized the importance of strong Public-Private Partnership in advancing sustainable development and improving public service delivery. He underscored that the overarching goal of the initiative is to further uplift the lives of farmers and rural communities in Davao del Norte.

Key presentations were delivered by Mr. Wendel Ferido of Umahan International Inc. and Mr. Khin Mark Tiongson of GreenBridge Corporation, who highlighted their respective partnership frameworks and potential investment opportunities for the province.

Among the key initiatives presented were GreenBridge Corporation’s “Plant a Tree, Adopt a Family, and Build a Life” program, which promotes environmental stewardship alongside community support, and Umahan International Inc.’s initiatives on strengthening farmer support through market linkage and international matching assistance.

This activity served as the second installment in the series of multi-sectoral engagements, facilitated by Assistant Provincial Administrator for Operations Arturo Jr. B. Manigo, MBA, RA, EnP, following the Private Sector Engagement Forum: Opportunities for High Value Investment held on 26 March 2026.
