Child Protection Unit Muzaffrabad

A two-day Child Protection Prevention training workshop was organized by UNICEF in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department AJK for AJK Police, and was facilitated by Dr. Fakhar Sohail.
The primary objective of the workshop was to strengthen the capacity of law enforcement personnel by enhancing their understanding of child rights, children’s fundamental needs, and relevant legal frameworks, while promoting effective measures for the prevention of violence, abuse, neglect, and exploitation of children.
This initiative represents a significant step towards establishing a safer, more responsive, and child-sensitive protection system in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Building capacity for protection: UNICEF and Social Welfare Department facilitated a training for police on gender and child protection case response to enhance survivor-centered approaches.

> A professional training on Safe Families and Child Protection was conducted with the technical support of UNICEF and Save the Children, aimed at strengthening child safeguarding practices. The training enhanced participants’ understanding of child rights, protection mechanisms, and safe family environments.
