ππππππ, πππ ππ, ππππ β The Vice President of the Republic and Chairperson of the Service Delivery Cluster, H.E. Hussein Abdelbagi Akol, on Monday evening arrived in Kuajok, the capital of Warrap State, for an official engagement with the State Government.
Upon arrival, the Vice President was received by State Government officials led by the Acting Governor of Warrap State, H.E. Aluel Garang Garang.
During his visit, the Vice President is expected to hold meetings with state officials to discuss key challenges facing the state, particularly matters related to service delivery under the Service Delivery Cluster which he chairs.

πππ, πππ ππ, ππππ β The Vice President of the Republic and Chairperson of the Service Delivery Cluster, H.E. Hussein Abdelbagi Akol, accompanied by his delegation, arrived in Wau, Western Bahr El Ghazal State, for an official visit aimed at assessing service delivery and engaging state leadership on key priorities.
Upon arrival, the Vice President was received by the Governor of Western Bahr El Ghazal State, Maj. Gen. Sherif Daniel Sherif, alongside senior state government officials.
During a meeting with the state leadership and cabinet members, the Governor briefed the Vice President on a number of challenges facing the Service Delivery Cluster in the state. Among the issues highlighted were the lack of feeding support and inadequate infrastructure at the University of Bahr El Ghazal, as well as other service-related concerns affecting the population.
They further outlined some of the achievements realized by the state government, including the renovation of some bridges and implementation of other priority projects.
Vice President Hussein Abdelbagi acknowledged the challenges presented and pledged the support of the Service Delivery Cluster toward improving service delivery across the state.
In his engagement with the state cabinet, the Vice President called on the people and leadership of Western Bahr El Ghazal State to rally behind President Salva Kiir Mayardit ahead of the December 2026 general elections. He also urged his fellow members of the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA) to work closely with the SPLM in support of President Kiir as their sole flag bearer in the upcoming elections.
The Vice President further pledged to return to Wau for continued engagements as he proceeds with his official tour to Warrap and Northern Bahr El Ghazal States respectively.

ππππ, πππ ππ, ππππ β The Vice President of the Republic and Chairperson of the Service Delivery Cluster H.E Hussein Abdelbagi Akol today held a diplomatic meeting with the United States Ambassador to South Sudan, H.E Michael J. Adler, to discuss key issues relating to the implementation of the Revitalized Peace Agreement, political dialogue among the parties, and bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, the Vice President reaffirmed the governmentβs commitment to the full implementation of the peace agreement, national dialogue, and the pursuit of lasting peace and stability across the country.
The discussions also explored opportunities for increased United States investment in South Sudan, particularly in sectors aimed at improving education, healthcare, and essential public services for the people of South Sudan.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both leaders reaffirming the importance of strengthening diplomatic relations, enhancing cooperation, and working together in support of peace, stability, and sustainable development in South Sudan.

ππππ, πππ ππ, ππππ β The Vice President of the Republic and Chairperson of the Service Cluster, H.E Hussein Abdelbagi Akol, today met with Anita Kiki Gbeho, Special Representative of the Secretary-General for the United Nations Mission in South Sudan to discuss continued partnership between the Government of South Sudan and the United Nations ahead of the forthcoming elections.
During the meeting, the Vice President reaffirmed the Governmentβs full commitment to peace, unity, and the successful implementation of the Peace Agreement, noting ongoing efforts to create a conducive environment for credible and peaceful elections.
The Vice President appreciated the continued support of the United Nations since 2005 and called for stronger cooperation in peacebuilding, humanitarian response, education, and health.
He also briefed the UN Special Representative on plans by a high-level government delegation to visit Bahr el Ghazal and Unity State to spread messages of peace, reconciliation, and national unity ahead of the elections.
For her part, Gbeho congratulated the Vice President on his reappointment and reiterated the United Nationsβ commitment to supporting peace, security, and stability in South Sudan.
Both agreed to continue working closely together in promoting peace, protecting civilians, and improving service delivery for the people of South Sudan.

Hussein Abdelbagi Akol, today received the remains of former Chief Justice and President of the Supreme Court of South Sudan, Justice Ambrose Riiny Thiik-Madut at Juba International Airport upon their arrival from Nairobi. Justice Ambrose Riiny Thiik passed away on May 3, 2026, at the age of 86.
Vice President Hussein Abdelbagi received the remains on behalf of H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit, who is currently out of the country.
The Vice President joined the family of the late Justice Ambrose Riiny Thiik, the leadership of the Judiciary of South Sudan, and members of the public in mourning a man he described as one of the pioneers who laid the foundation of the Judiciary in South Sudan.
He encouraged the bereaved family to remain strong during this difficult period and urged them to uphold and continue the late Chief Justiceβs legacy of service, integrity, and dedication to justice.
