The French Robertson Unit recently held a highly successful “STOP the Drug Rally”, an initiative focused on addressing the challenges of substance abuse. The event brought together unit leadership, guest speakers, and the program advocates who delivered powerful, motivating messages centered on recovery, responsibility, and long- term change.
Speakers emphasized the importance of breaking the cycle of addiction- both the patterns that contribute to incarceration and the struggles that often persist during confinement. The rally encouraged participants to recognize their potential for change and highlighted the resources available to support their journey toward sobriety and personal growth.
This Large-scale effort engaged approximately 740 inmates, reflecting the strong interest and willingness within the population to seek positive transformation. Through shared stories, education, and evidence-based messaging, the event reinforced the department’s broader mission of rehabilitation and preparing individuals to re-enter society as productive, stable citizens.
