😎Their future’s so bright, they have to wear shades!

🚌In partnership with Georgia State University Masters of Social Work students, our 3-part Building Bright Futures workshop series concluded with a “GSU For a Day” field trip!

JCY Middle School ESOL students toured Georgia State University campus and walked in the shoes of a college student, learning about some of the research, professional development, and involvement opportunities available.

Representatives from GSU’s African Student Association and LASA (Latin American Student Association) at GSU spoke to students about their clubs, and professors from the School of Social Work offered advice about choosing your career path and following your dreams. A special thank you to the Social Work student cohort who provided lunch and swag bag items for Young Middle School!

➡️But the day didn’t end there! Stay tuned for part 2 to see where Young Middle School visited next!

Alongside Operation HOPE, Inc., our team led financial literacy activities and reviewed the basics when it comes to budgeting for 19 ESOL students, ranging from 9th to 12th grade.

Eid al-Adha Mubarak! We wish you a blessed Eid al-Adha on this remembrance of faithfulness and sacrifice.

As we uplift our Muslim community on this holy day, we reflect on our Mayor’s Eid al-Fitr celebration at Atlanta City Hall, hosted earlier this spring in partnership with ISB Atlanta.

Community members, including City of Atlanta officials and interfaith leaders, gathered in prayer, unity, and intention to mark the end of Ramadan. Arabic students from North Atlanta High School and ESOL students from Mays High School delivered remarks about what Eid means to them. Thank you to ISB Atlanta for your enduring partnership!
