If art transcends culture, stories connect us to the humanities.

Wednesday's audiobook walk with The Walkbrary deepened my appreciation of today's library. Through the lens of the humanities, I experienced the library as a walkable space while listening to All About Love by bell hooks via .

Guided by an eagle circling above, I began to see the trees talking. Although I never lost track of the narrative story selected to accompany me during The Walkbrary, something about the eagle, the trees, and the beauty of the clouds truly moved me.

Slowing down the pace long enough to pause the audiobook app, take notes, and sit with the wisdom of bell hooks was truly a groundbreaking experience. I literally stopped to gather ye rosebuds by capturing a few snapshots to serve as mementos of the moment. 's narration performance was simply marvelous.

The greenspace that runs through 's Southeast Branch, left me in awe. I've never felt so immersed in a story. The combination of walking and listening amid an introvert-friendly space has proven to be quite effective. As a 30 minute walk yields approximately 3,000 to 4,000 steps for most adults, I proudly reached 4,004 steps during the third Walk at The Library Meetup and walked away with a few unifying messages.

Becoming fully present during the walking book club awakened my curiosity for library outreach and compelled me to discover more ways to convey:

● How Public Libraries Transform Into Health Literacy Locales.

● Why Every Step Tells A Story.

● Adding A 30 Minute Walk To Your Day Is An Excellent Milestone.

● Libraries with “Heart” Programs Help Move Your Blood Pressure Numbers To A Healthier Range.

● Taking A Closer Look At The Greenspace That Runs Through Public Libraries.

● Highlighting Health Literacy Through National Observances Creates an Engaging Experience.

● Your Local Library Keeps You Connected To Universal Themes.

Until next time, remember, audiobooks count as reading and listening gives way to reflection.

One Love,

Stevie • Every Step Tells A Story

Thank you for helping celebrate audiobook month and getting me back active. .app has stayed in my ear. I’ve walked for at least 30 minutes each day since walking with you all and at a minimum will continue for the weekdays throughout the month.

Who else is walking and listening to audiobooks this month?
