- Lakeside HOSA Shines on the International Stage! 🏆🌟

Congratulations to our incredible HOSA students who represented our school at the 2026 HOSA International Leadership Conference this past week!

Competing against some of the best and brightest students from around the world, our Lions achieved outstanding results:

⭐ 7 Top Ten International Finalists

These accomplishments are a testament to the dedication, hard work, and excellence of our students and advisors. We are incredibly proud of the way they represented Lakeside and demonstrated what it means to be a Lion!

Please join us in welcoming Lacey Gooch as our new 6th-Grade Assistant Principal. Lacey is excited to join the Lakeside family and brings 18 years of experience in Forsyth County Schools. Throughout her career, she has served as a math teacher, instructional technology specialist, assistant administrator, and assistant principal at both the middle and elementary school levels. She holds degrees from North Georgia College & State University, Valdosta State University, and Kennesaw State University, along with a Tier I Leadership Certification from the University of West Georgia. Outside of school, Lacey enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, reading, and playing the piano.

Please join us in welcoming Christine Zanolli to the Lakeside family. Christine has taught elementary school for 29 years, the last 5 years in fifth grade.  She is excited to join Lakeside as an 8th grade ELA teacher.  She loves to travel and has been to 45 states and 30 national parks.

Please join us in welcoming Emma Howard to the Lakeside family! Emma is so excited to be joining the team at Lakeside Middle School as a School Counselor. She recently graduated from the University of Georgia with her Master’s and Specialist degrees in Professional School Counseling. Emma loves all things UGA and spending time with her family and friends. She is looking forward to getting to know the students, staff, and families at Lakeside and is excited to be a Lion this upcoming school year!

Please join us in welcoming Brienne DuPree to the Lakeside family. Brienne is excited to be teaching 7th Grade Math at Lakeside. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Special Education from the University of Georgia and her master’s degree in Health Studies from the University of Alabama. Brienne began her career in education as a special education teacher, where she taught for eight years before taking time away from the classroom to stay home with her two boys. For the past 14 years, she has continued working with students through tutoring in Forsyth County Schools. Brienne is thrilled to join the Lakeside team! 💜💛

The past week, our administrative team spent time at the FCS Leadership Retreat to collaborate, dream, and plan for the next school year!
