Carolyn Bourdeaux is an advocate for working families and the experienced, independent leader Georgia's 7th Congressional District needs to get us through this crisis. In Congress, Carolyn is fighting to bring down the cost of health care and prescription drugs, and ensure an economic recovery that puts workers and small businesses first. Before her election to Congress, Carolyn worked as a profes
sor of public management and policy at the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University and has served in a number of public service roles during her career. During the Great Recession, Carolyn was the director of the Georgia Senate Budget and Evaluation Office, where she worked with both parties to balance Georgia’s budget and get our economy back on track. In 2018, Carolyn was the Democratic nominee for GA-07, challenging a 4-term Republican incumbent who had never gotten below 60% of the vote. Carolyn’s message of fighting for affordable health care, economic opportunity for our working families, and stepping up to do what is right for Georgia inspired record-breaking voter turnout in GA-07 and she came within 433 votes of winning the seat, the closest race in the country. In 2020, Carolyn became the only Democratic candidate to flip a competitive red to blue congressional district in the country.
