Here's what nobody tells you about recovery:
It's boring. And that's the whole point.
No drama. No crisis. No "what's happening next." Just a man, a routine, and the slow work of building a life that doesn't require escape.
If you're looking for excitement, recovery might not be for you. If you're looking for peace, there's a door open.

This is Norman.
Title: COO and Greeting Ambassador. Tenure: 4 years. Job description: whip every visitor with his tail until they rub his back.
He hasn't missed a day since he started. Doesn't believe in vacation. Greets every man who walks through these doors like they've been gone too long, even if they just got here.
There's a reason Liberty House feels like a home. Some of it is the structure. Some of it is the faith. And some of it is a dog who decided a long time ago that everybody who comes through that door belongs.

Sunday morning thought.
I'm not a preacher. I never went to seminary. I can't quote you chapter and verse most days.
What I can tell you is what I've lived. Years ago I was empty and didn't know how to ask for help — so God did for me what I couldn't do for myself. Not all at once. Enough to get me through the next day, and then the next.
That's what Liberty House is built on. Not theology. Not training. Just a guy who got freed up and decided to help other men find the same thing.
If you're somewhere on that road this morning, keep going. The next right step counts more than the whole road.

Recovery is a team sport.

That's what we do here at Liberty House. We don't fix men. Men fix themselves. We just show up together while they do it — accountability partners, house brothers, people who get it because we've lived it.

If you're looking for a place where you belong, or you know someone who is, reach out. There's always room at the table.

Message us or call. Let's talk.

June 24, 2010 is a date I keep coming back to.

Not because anything dramatic happened that day — but because it's the day I stopped lying to myself. That was the start. Everything since then — Liberty House, the men who've come through here, the life I have now — got built one honest day at a time.

If you're at the start, the start is enough.
