ATTENTION BUSINESS OWNERS - If you have recieved one of these notices, please note: this is NOT a government mailing! The law it is referring to is local Law 75. This law requires that roll-down security gates be at least 70% see through. It was originally set to go into effect July 1st, but myself and others stepped in to delay the enforcement while we rewrite the law.

Having previously owned a small business, I know that buying a new gate is an enormous expense, and the last thing that small business owners need right now. So disregard these mailings and rest assured no changes need to be made at this time. We will update you when our new legislation, which seeks to grandfather in most existing businesses, is passed.

Happy Pride Month! πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ This month we celebrate ongoing and historical social, cultural, and political contributions of theLGBTQ community, which are deeply woven into the identity of New York City as a whole. We honor the long history of q***r and trans activism as we continue the fight for the rights and wellbeing of all people.

It is now more critical than ever to stand up for our LGBTQ neighbors, particularly as our Transgender friends, family, and community members are increasingly targeted on a national scale.

Pride matters because for many, visibility and community are life or death. Pride matters because our LGBTQ neighbors belong and deserve dignity. Pride matters to all who care about acceptance, love, and celebration of our city’s wide and rich range of identities.

As your Council Member, I believe in a southern Brooklyn that loves and welcomes all. To my q***r and trans neighbors and constituents: we are stronger, not weaker, for your presence in and contributions to this community. In the face of those who would tell you otherwise, I promise to always have your back.

Please join me and my team in celebrating the LGBTQ community this month and every month!
