Accidents are the leading cause of injury and death in children. The misson of Safe Kids Cleveland County is to "reduce these accidental injuries".

Safe Kids Cleveland County is one of more than 600 coalitions affiliated with Safe Kids Worldwide, an organization whose mission is to prevent accidental childhood injury. 🌡️ That thermometer doesn't lie, and neither do these numbers.

The photo says it all: 80° outside. 113° inside. That gap can be deadly.

On a typical 80-degree day, the inside of a car can climb 20 degrees in just 10 minutes — reaching a deadly 109° in under 20 minutes. A child's body temperature rises 3–5x faster than an adult's, and heatstroke begins at just 104°.

On average, 37 children die in hot cars every year in the U.S. and during the summer, that's roughly two children every week. Pets are equally at risk.
