It was an honor to see Alderman Ronnie Mosley at our “Refill your Cup” pop-up shop! I appreciate it when our local elected officials take part in our events. He was so kind and personable! Thank you, Alderman Mosley!

As a nurse, entrepreneur AND mother, I realized I was becoming a pro at taking care of everyone except myself.
We flex the "hustle," but we don’t talk about the burnout. We don’t talk about the brain fog, the physical exhaustion, or that feeling of being completely numb to the things we used to love.
Burnout isn’t a badge of honor; instead, it’s a sign that you’re running on empty.
Here’s the good news. There are ways to take your power back:
-Hard boundaries. If it’s not productive, it doesn't get your time.
-Silent recovery. No screens, no notifications, no "planning."
-Intentional connection. Stop trying to recharge in isolation.
In other words, join a community of folks looking to fill their cups at the Refill Your Cup Pop-Up on May 30th!

I spent years shifting in and out of identities, caught between the idea of who I should’ve been and what I could’ve become. Then, the world got very real, very fast. I found myself at a point where I’d been kicked out of high school and was pregnant at 19. Not exactly the thriving start I imagined. I had to look at those stacked odds and make a choice. I chose to pick myself up and give myself a brutal reality check. I enrolled in nursing school and worked my butt off, balancing life as a young mother and a McDonald’s employee.
I was exhausted and pushed to the absolute edge, but I was determined to see it through. My past didn’t stop me, and my future didn’t intimidate me. I made it. I became a nurse and continued in that journey for 24 years. I thought that would be my end game, until God pushed me into entrepreneurship. Whew, talk about unfamiliar territory! It’s not where I thought I’d be, but I’m here for the ride, peeling back the layers of Lenicia and staying open to every revelation. Don’t let the past, other people’s perspectives, or your own limitations derail what God wants to do through you.
Cheers to pushing yourself all May!
