Ohio's free fishing weekend is a great opportunity to spend time and make memories with loved ones! Visit one of Ohio's many public fishing spots this weekend.

🎣 All Ohio residents can fish without purchasing a license during Free Fishing Days on Saturday, June 20, and Sunday, June 21. All size and daily limits apply during these two days. 🐟

Today I had meetings throughout the District, but the highlight may have been a tour of the map department by none other than Columbiana County Engineer Bert Dawson himself.

Our infrastructure and technology evolves, but the records preserved by Bert and the dedicated engineering team ensure our history isn't lost. Some of these records date back to the early 1800's!

Senate Joint Resolution 10 passes with 61 votes in the Ohio House! This fall, Ohio voters will get to decide if a Photo ID requirement to vote should be in the Ohio Constitution.

In addition, House Bill 472, legislation to expand Ohio’s voter ID rules to include absentee ballots, was passed in the House and Senate and now heads to Gov. Mike DeWine’s desk for signature.

We just voted out SB 450, the State Capital Budget Bill. Securing these investments for the 79th House District is a reflection of the vision our communities have shared with my office. In Columbiana and Carroll County, these projects will make a meaningful difference in the daily lives of our residents. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to advocate for these projects, and I look forward to seeing these improvements take shape across our communities!

Busy day on the House Floor!

One of the greatest honors we have in this body is to recognize the tremendous efforts of Ohioans all across our great state, and just last week, during Ohio House Session, I had the distinct privilege of celebrating a leader who represents the absolute best of an entrepreneurial spirit: Columbiana County’s very own Mr. Mark Lamoncha, THE U.S. Small Business Administration’s National Small Business Person of the Year!

Small businesses are the true engine of American prosperity, and we thank Mark for being an outstanding ambassador for over 36 million small businesspeople across this nation, and an inspiration to every single one of us right here at home!

Message to Constituents:

I have been asked to keep you up to date on HB 795 Shield Act, which is before the House Medicaid Committee. I am here in person today, but you can watch live at the Ohio Channel link below.

The committee just accepted a Sub Bill, removing the language adopted last week which would have removed the ability of family members to be caregivers. The problem has never been parents of DD children or adults providing care and services to their children.

Those who take advantage of or manipulate the system need prosecuted, and we are committed to eliminating fraud that essentially takes resources away from those Ohioans who need it most.
