Congratulations to Indian Trail Elementary on earning its first Purple Star School designation for supporting military students and families!
Canal Wi******er High School and Canal Wi******er Middle School also renewed their designations this year, meaning all four Canal Wi******er Schools buildings are now Purple Star Schools.
Schools earn this recognition by meeting requirements focused on identifying and supporting military-connected students, including having a trained staff liaison in each building. At Canal Wi******er Schools, these liaisons help coordinate support and lead activities such as a military-connected student breakfast, Military Child Spirit Week, Veterans Day events, and a signing day for students entering the armed forces.

101-year-old Bill Greason, the oldest living Major Leaguer, threw out the first pitch for the Birmingham Barons Thursday night. ❤️
