On this day in 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced that in accordance with the Emancipation Proclamation, "all slaves are free". Juneteenth celebrates the end of slavery in the United States, freedom, resilience, and was signed into law as a federal holiday in 2021.

Today, City of Coppell administrative offices and other City facilities are closed in observance of Juneteenth. The CORE and Wagon Wheel Tennis & Pickleball Center will operate at regular hours. To view all facility closures, coppelltx.gov/m/newsflash.

Construction Reminder 🚧

A 24/7 traffic shift is in place along a small portion of S Moore Road, so that crews can replace the sanitary sewer main. The bike lanes will be closed, but there will be a vehicle lane open in each direction. Drive safe, Coppell!
