Did you know that a global shortage of skilled trade workers has reached a critical point, with an estimated 1.4 to 2.1 million skilled trades positions currently unfilled in the U.S. alone?
We’re grateful for recent coverage from CBS Colorado's Mekialaya White who interviewed Brandi Tafoya, a graduate of Sheet Metal Workers Apprenticeship School of Colorado, one of our Prosperity Partners. This nonprofit is doing incredible work to address the skilled trades shortage and, with our funding support, is helping apprentices go into successful careers! This program has been life-changing for Brandi:
"Senior year, I was trying to figure out what to do after I graduated," Tafoya said. "Getting into the trade gave me something to do with my hands. You have a sense of pride like going to a building, and you say, 'Hey, I actually worked in this building, and I know what it looks like from the bones.'"
Read the story and share the program with other Denver students!
