Due to severe weather, street flooding, and the active Flash Flood Warning in our area, todayโ€™s Juneteenth celebration is officially canceled. Streets are already flooded, and conditions are hazardous, so please stay off the roads and remain safe indoors.

While we are incredibly disappointed that weather disrupted today's event, safety comes first. We look forward to seeing everyone at our celebration next year.

Thank you for your understanding, and please stay safe.

Introducing our 2026 Juneteenth Grand Parade Marshals! ๐Ÿฅโœจ

We are incredibly honored to announce the outstanding individuals leading our Grand Parade this Saturday. Both of this yearโ€™s marshals represent the very best of La Porte through their dedication to leadership, faith, and public service:

โœจ E. B. Scott โ€“ A proud La Porte native, University of Houston graduate, and former track athlete who had the distinct honor of running with the Olympic Torch in 1996. Today, he is an award-winning international speaker, poet, consultant, and published author dedicated to inspiring others through literacy and community service.

โœจ Shamarian โ€œShayeโ€ Lister โ€“ A devoted wife, mother of five, minister, and entrepreneur who recently became a published author with her 2026 devotional, Take a Breath, Mommy! Shaye has spent over 25 years in law enforcement, serving our city for the last 17 years as the Crime Victim Liaison for the La Porte Police Department. As she beautifully puts it: "Faith, family, service, and community are at the heart of everything I do."

Please join us in celebrating these two phenomenal leaders as they lead the procession down Broadway this weekend! ๐Ÿ™Œโค๏ธ
